I think JC is a great fighter too, but not an ATG fighter by any means. He just has not proven it. Also, Hopkins is old and slowing down, but it's also that JC's style is harder to deal with for a guy in Hopkins current shape. There is a huge difference between an in shape 35 year old and an in shape 43 year old... JC throws 1000 punches a fight. Hopkins no longer seems to possess the energy to throw a lot of punches. He now looks to punch one at a time. I still think the old man is resourceful enough to beat JC, however if he doesn't, it would be because he is OLD, not because JC is better. Vegas doesn't lie....Money doesn't lie...See where the betting money goes towards...Hopkins will be the underdog. What fighter achieved ATG status by beating a fighter he was SUPPOSED to beat? hahaha Someone answer that.
1) What's with your Europe vs American comments and inferences? 2) No excuses. The favorite is SUPPOSED to win. JC is the favorite. So don't brag if he does win. 3) Everyone knows I usually make more bold predictions. I predicted Roy Jones would beat Trinidad by UD or late KO/TKO. I didn't say RJJ would win UNLESS <insert reason>. You want me to say I'd bet my life on BHop winning? No, I wouldn't. You want me to say BHop should be the favorite? No, I wouldn't. You want me to say that beating BHop would elevate JC to ATG status? NO WAY! Just like everyone says BHop beat too many guys above their prime weight...JC has to beat someone who is great in their prime, not some great 43 year old.
I agree the Hopkins will be the underdog. Im sure that Robinson was favorite to beat Gavilan , that is one of Robinson's best wins in hindsight , not that his greatness was achieved just on that though. Aaron Pryor's ATG status is largely due to the past-prime Arguello battles (there's only Cervantes that he beat apart from that). Calzage-Hopkins prime4prime is a pick'em. You sell him short. Maybe he should achieve more , but he wil be a ATG IMO
I don't care about how you rate Joe after this win No corona, all I want from you is a proper prediction, and no waffling
Calzaghe's going to stop Hopkins and beat him bad. Alot of fans have terrible judgement on fighters, especially the ones who use the opposition logic. Calzaghe won't be draining to make Light Heavy and will be much stronger and faster. http://www.frankwarren.tv/drill/News/Articles/2008/01/17/text-calzaghe-hopkins-packages.html
My pick is Hopkins by decision...the same as it has been. That will not change. However, I think if Hopkins loses it will be much more due to age then due to JC being a better fighter. If you can't deal with that prediction and opinion, tough ****. Your boy JC should've made an effort to fight real fighters instead of spending his prime in a soft division, fighting mostly nobodies.
In the meantime, what will all of you JC nuthuggers do if BHop does win? I mean honestly, where does that leave Calzaghe?
Ask me after the fight, because I don't see how Hopkins wins, I really don't I was worried about Kessler, but not this one
What will you do if Hopkins fights the fight of his life......but still can't beat JC?? I can't help but feel that instead of giving Calzaghe any credit, however he wins, you will just fall back on the hopkins was past it excuse.
I get the feeling the Calzaghe fans will tell us that Hopkins fought the best fight of his life even if Calzaghe wins by 1st round KO.
