No, I did think for a second for his last fight about the Lacy fight but thee`s no comparison, Saunders was moving well and had good head movement vs David L. but Joe came forwards vs Lacy and was slipping shots which is a far more difficult skill and allows you to land a lot whilst being elusive, Calzaghe landed far more punches vs Lacy than Billy did vs David L. It`s very hard to evade combos thrown quickly the way Calzaghe did, one thing though I feel Saunders would have beaten Eubank SR the way Joe beat him.
Billy's able to do this, has demonstrated as much, but he's not as memorably effective in that capacity because he lacks Calzaghe's output. Joe had more of a belt, too, even with his compromised punching technique. Billy is fleeter of foot and has more spontaneous agility, but the cleverness of Joe's footwork combined with his sheer output of punches made up for any shortfall in those regards - with the angles he was able to create to set up plentiful offense in the center of the ring, he never needed to take flight the way Saunders needed to in Quebec. Calzaghe is just better, for the reasons stated above, and wins H2H, but they actually have plenty in common, with wonderful upper body movement in center ring and popping precision southpaw leads.
BJ is a MW, with no real SMW pedigree, so you have to pick the good SMW. When BJ moves up or does something elite at MW then we can shout him beating a Cowardzaghe or Chickenson. Besides which joes not going to accept the fight - when picking a MW to beat up he makes sure they are relative weaklings.
