Joe Calzaghe vs. Lucian Bute at 168lb.

I prefer Calzaghe in a tune-up fight before taking on Bute, eventually both would have to meet due to fans' demand.

I do like this matchup only because somehow it brings out the very best in them on the ring. On one hand, Calzaghe will aggressively attack, put pressure, throwing bombs at Bute. On the other hand, Bute will counter-attack and attack when opportunities are available to do so. What fight could be best describe as a stylistic matchup for the fans than this fight? Good matchup, I actually do see Calzaghe winning the fight, although Bute has a chance.

Calzaghe UD. But I don't see any chance of him coming out of retirement

    Calzaghe UD

He's quicker then Bute, has a better jab and fights much better on the inside as well.

Calzaghe is far superior to Bute in intangibles, not to mention some if not all tangibles. Calzaghe UD.

what has bute done to for people to wonder if he'd have a chance against calzaghe if they fought. calzaghe would ud him like he did to lacy.

I guess the real question should be:

    Is Bute in his prime?

I voted for Bute, only because I think many people under rate Bute on this forum simply because he was nearly knocked out by Andrade. If there is anyone with the style to beat Calazghe it would be Bute. I think the fight would be close 115-113 either way. The fact that there are as many votes for Calzaghe KO'ing Bute as there are for Bute shows how biased the forum is. Calzaghe would never knock out Bute, even before his hand problems.

:lol: Bute maybe now, but that's because Calzaghe is retired and past his prime. Calzaghe three years ago would beat the snot out of Bute.

I have to see Calzaghe in a tune-up fight first before any major matchup.

A Calzaghe-Andrade match would tell me a lot where he's at in his game. Andrade has always been a good boxer which can give Calzaghe a tough going in early rounds. If Calzaghe does win convincingly, then there should be a bout between Calzaghe and Bute within a year. The Superfight should be held in Las Vegas.

Calzaghe close UD. Bute is far better than Lacy. If Bute were American , he would be hailed as one the most amazing fighters of all times. Calzaghe on the other hand does not lose. Period.
