Canelo better than Hopkins? No way.

Calzaghe in a close points decision or Canelo by bribery, the judges do love him after all.

Totally agree wasn't comparing them as fighters more how I see the fight going.

Think Canelo would block a lot of Joe`s shots with his high guard.

I would definitely have gone for Joe. Stylistically, it would have been a very bad fight for Canelo. But Canelo is too good to get the Lacy treatment.

Joe wasn’t far more skilled at all.

I think both of these guys are overrated by their respective stans, but at the moment, Calzaghe rightfully less so. I don't think Canelo can stop him nor outwork him. Alvarez' only chance would be to have the fight in Guadalajara with the officiating one would expect.

Yes, Canelo is more of a striker, he doesn`t have the jab that Joe had.

Canelo has better technique and accuracy.

Joe was a great fighter, but his best attributes were his speed and his volume.

    He wasn’t really a technician.

But his jab was better, Cnelo needs to do more work with his jab, he doesn`t throw or land it enough and he tries to take his opponent out with every shot, Calzaghe was more crafty.

Joe had a good jab. But that is just one punch.

Joe also had a bigger reach and a completely different style.

    Both great fighters.

But you noting that Joe had a better jab, isn’t enough for you to say that he was far more skilled.

    He wasn’t.

Canelo throws great body shots and uppercuts.

    He’s very accurate.

He has a better overall skill set than what Joe had.

So true. At 168lbs Canelo started his fights at a snails pace. You cant give up that many rounds vs Calzaghe early and still win. Calzahge dominates the first half of this fight easy. Pressure will be on Canelo to change the fight late, I don't think he catches the quicker Calzaghe. Shades of the Lacy fight here but not as bad of a beating. Very wide decision maybe 10 rounds to 2 for Joe.
