If Calzaghe tried to counter every shot Canelo threw he would have left himself open to a counter to a counter. Nelo hurts Zaggers.

Robin Reid - who teak-tough Carl Froch said is the hardest puncher he's been in with - landed multiple right hand bombs on Calzaghe, with little sign of Zags wilting. Joe also took Kessler's best to the head and body. Even Froch grudgingly admitted that if he were to face Cazlaghe he'd need a KO, and that was a tall order because he had a granite chin, huge engine and amazing recovery.

Canelo's not heavy handed enough to hurt Joe, aside from loading up power shots and neglecting his jab, and then he gasses and that's all she wrote.

I think so also.. Calzaghe would win a UD. That is not saying much as far as insulting Canelo, just that Calzaghe was that good and he was a bigger guy.

    Polls going well then

Look, even mid 30s Calzaghe was schooling guys like Kessler, Bika, Lacy etc.. after years of being injury plagued.. when you look at the likes of Kovalev now at the same age you realise how special Calzaghe was.. in fact Joe almost walked away from boxing a couple of times before Lacy .. yes Lacy gets his **** but he was a former Olympian with like 230 amateur fights .. winning most of them ., I mean you don't do that if you aren't a solid fighter .. plus he pummelled juice job Reid who had never been stopped… who knows what he could have done had Calzaghe not pasted him and taken his soul.. Canelo couldn't dream of a performance like that! Even men like Bika who were rough and ready & could take it to you would probably beat most of the men Canelo fought at 168 .. Saunders isn't a SMW, Plant is a hype job & Smith may have but even then I'm not sure, he couldn't even beat or outmuscle little Ryder LOL.. Canelo is an excellent little juice head but let's be honest he struggled with southpaws Lara and Trout so imagine what JC would do.. sorry but this is an easy pick.. Calzaghe whoops him.

I said this before and I'll say it again it would be the most one sided draw in history.

Am not a calzaghe fan I think his title run is a laugh apart from a few names but at the end of his career he showed his class and Canelo isn't that good his best wins were never nothing to write home about you can pick them apart if dig deep enough so calzaghe beats Canelo in lacy fashion there are a list of fighters calzaghe beat that I would pick to beat Canelo I mean Canelo is a good fighter at best but not great

I actually think Bivol has the style that could actually give Zags some serious problems.

Bivol is arguably a more fluid and intelligent Kessler - where he has the jab and 1/2 fundementals into a fine art, and whislt Joe clearly beat Kessler, the first 6 rounds were close until Joe made some adjustments.

Bivol's jab is excellent, his distance management top-drawer, and has great defence and footwork too, plus a decent enough engine and workrate to possily keep up with Joe. It would be a really hard matchup for both guys.

Really intriguing match up that one! I usually favour Joe because his strengths are hard to nullify - he's chameleonic in that he's a boxer/swarmer/pressure fighter all at once. Maybe controversial but I think Bivol matches up better with Joe on paper than say Beterbiev (though Artur is so relentless it's hard to see how any fighter deters hime from eventually getting inside and doing some damage!)

The best wins between the three guys Canelo beat to unify the division were one trick pony Lemieux and past it Groves and people call the division weak when Calzaghe ruled it LOL!
