Savage stuff indeed, Joe always stopped his man with dignity. A gentleman of a fighter...

    4:25 of pure gentlemanly violence

Francis did well to get up from the 2nd knockdown.

  6. When thinking about stoppages from Calzaghe I just can't get past the Torres and Manfredo ones....

Right like Manfredo would have went on much longer.

Why don't you watch those stoppages in real time coz almost any stoppage can look bad with a ten second clip. I know for a fact that the Mitchell stoppage was legit yet that clip tells otherwise.

So, 6.7/7 people that have posted in this thread have never had a bout? I'd love to meet the 30% of the man that had a fight - he must be nails.

At the end of the day when Calzaghe thought he had you he didnt let go, like a dog with a bone, therefore referee's had no option but to stop the fights. The opponents werent throwing anything back he wouldnt let them.

I agree some of them were shocking but that isnt anything to do with Calzaghe. As mentioned he put the refs in a position where they had to stop it, better referee's would have recognised the opposition wasnt hurt and could continue but when the opponent is just covering up not throwing back ref doesnt have much choice.
