Calzaghe vs Dawson needs to happen.

    Calzaghe during the post fighter interview that he's "thinking" about what he wants to do next, so retirement isn't out of the question.


    And to the Diaconu fans, I'll admit Dawson did duck Diaconu, but he manged to get around the ABC sanctunaries, and Diaconu did injure himself when they were suppose to fight last year. But Dawson is clearly the man to beat in the LHW division.

    Styles make fights and I think Dawson would beat Calzaghe...and Diaconu too.

    lets hear what dawson has to say first..........my guess is "ive got mandatories" he wants no part of calzaghe.

    It seems Tarver is going to force the issue and fight Dawson again.

    Anyway, Calzaghe takes him to school.

    That's because of his promoter and that he fights on Showtime. Gary Shaw did offer $3 million dollars to fight Tarver last year, so it depends if his promoter can give Calzaghe the money he wants.

    How is he overrated? He's good as a lot of people says he is. Overrated is like Jeff Lacy, Roy Jones (right now), and many others, Dawson is not the type of fighter.

    dawson is a very talented and very good fighter and stylewise he is also the hardest fight out there for calzaghe IMO

    make no mistake this would be a very hard fight for calzaghe.

    but just as well a very hard fight for dawson in his opponents backyard .


    but dawson is not a big draw , i watched the ruiz/mendoza/johnson/tarver fights and he simply does not put bums on seats .

    so calzaghe has the ready made excuse which i am sure he will use , which would be he does not bring enough money.

    i would hope calzaghe would come out and say positive things about dawson though , even if he does not fight him ,and does not go back to his usual rhetoric of demeaning fighters which is his want .

    Jeff Lacey, Mikkel Kessler, Chad Dawson.

    Hell, Dawson is probably the worst of those 3.

    if dawson and diaconu are around for a while when calzaghe/jones/hopkins retire in the next 8 months they will be left.

    dawson signed to fight diaconu in america, diaconu got injured and fight was cancelled

    fight went to purse bids second time around and the fight was ready to go and dawson refused to go to europe to fight diaconu and vacated.

    but they can still meet , plenty of time.

    Calzaghe is on top of the hill right now. No one can take that away from him. He has defeated all the old lions and now must take on all up and coming challegers.Dawson, Pavlik and Abraham to name a few. Great fights for him in 2009.

    Erm Joe's been put on his ass in his last two fights :lol: , Dawson would murder Joe, i have no doubt that Chad's speed, Combinations and movement would give him hell.

    You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you would like to elaborate on your statement, i'd be very interested in hearing what you say :yep

    Dawson is an A grade boxer and i really don't think anyone at or around his weight can give him problems apart from maybe Hopkins.

    let dawson fight hopkins first and then if he beats him which i dont think he will then let him fight calzaghe

    He did give up his WBC belt, but I think it was more about Dawson not wanting to fight Europe. Also Dawson said he would of fought Diaconu if he couldn't get a fight with Tarver.

    i`d rather see dawson v kessler to be honest,
