u heard it here first. jones ran from the SMW division to unify major title and defend at LHW and win a title at HW, because he wanted to avoid a wbo title fight with cowardzaghe, whose name he along with most of the UK did not actually know at this point.

For Mad's next gag, Lennox decided against dropping down to SMW for fear of joes wbo title streak, preferring to hide with the lowly WBA and WBC heavyweight titles instead.

Calzaghe is probably the only man that would be able to beat him....nobody else comes close.

Calzaghe makes GGG look like a slow come forward plodder. Joe by 120-108.

Old amateur rules yes. Pro game is different level to that.

I didnt say he ran away from him at any point, and neither do i think he'd beat a prime jones, and you are right he was little known stateside, and when you combine being little known, arkward southpaw unbeaten champion, there was no reward for what would have been a hard nights work.
Hopkins on the other hand called for the fight, agreed terms, then doubled his terms the day of signing, its hardly a secret.so instead of twisting what im saying, the point i made was somebody said calzaghe wouldnt fight either in their prime which is wrong,he couldnt get them in the ring, not his fault.
Also ive stated numerous times im not a fan of his,i hated his style and cheered a few on against him, just looking back in hindsight he was a stylistic nightmare for almost any style.
Same with lewis,i didnt like him when he fought but looking back you realise just how good someone is when your not so critical or begrudging

aha so beating someone you didn't know called cowardzaghe for his wbo title that no one wanted, is a harder nights work that unifying LHW, defending major titles there, taking a HW title.

I get you mate, why not say that first time.

joe had wbo unknown title, too right he couldn't get anyone in the rnig, that's why he shouldda tried winning a title that was worth a damn earlier instead of waiting a decade for another title owner to get injured and then dare face him in protected Cardiff where if he got floored he could always ask the ref to stop the fight and give him the win.

I have Golovkin by Tko rd 10. Calzaghe would have his moments similar what Geale had, but he doesn´t have power that he needs to get respect from GGG. Golovkin would break him apart. But this is just a guess, because in boxing, anything can happen.

Once again your completely skipping the point.someone said jc wouldnt fight jones in his prime.i said he didnt have the option to.i explained it as objectively as i could that jones would have got no props for beating joe and prob less thought of than fighting who he did.also that id back jones to win, also i have no agenda to bum up calzaghe as i wasnt a fan.but just the fact people saying joe avoided them is a falsehood.if you want to spin that in another direction again feel free

As for winning another title,he tried everything to get collins in the ring, signed to fight him then he retired, ottke refused to face him,who exactly should he have chased down.
And yes he stayed on home soil, unlike hopkins who trotted the globe fighting a whos who on foreign soil
