As per the interview, he'd just recently signed another multi fight contract with them. So yeah, I'm sure the best fighter in the world and HBO's highest paid fighter could have fought Joe on Showtime. Ha! I'm sure he'd have desperately wanted Joe's WBO belt. I'm sure he'd have wanted to have fought a relatively unknown SMW.

Get back in the real world. Frank knew all of the above. In 2001, Kerry Davis of HBO was trying to secure Roy a Dariusz M fight. The following year in 2002, he tried to secure a rematch against Bernard. After Joe had made all the right noises, he went and fought the following guys: Veit, McIntyre, Brewer and Jiminez. He said in the interview that he was ambitious. Yeah! That's why he was fighting Mkrtchyan and Salem 3 years later.
