I want to hear it from both sides. How could Calzaghe pull off the decision? Or would Hagler destroy Calzaghe?

In every way? What about speed? I think there are a few departments that Calzaghe may edge Hagler on.

Hagler was the better fighter IMHO but Calzaghe is bigger and faster.

In the last thread, people ridiculed people who chose Calzaghe, besides the fact that some did very good and detailed predictions as to why the fight would go the way they say. I aren't entirely sure, but I'd go Hagler in a very, very close fight.

    Power: Hagler
    Footwork: Calzaghe
    Speed: Calzaghe
    Conditioning: Tie
    Heart: Hagler
    Chin: Hagler
    Power: Hagler
    Intelligence/Ring smarts: Calzaghe
    Experience: Hagler

    Any disagree with this?

The speed is the key. I'm also assuming this fight takes place at 168 since Joe could never make middleweight, so how Hagler carries his speed up to 168 is crucial. It's something we don't have any evidence on to know how it might look one way or the other, but Calzaghe is the bigger man as well. I picked a Calzaghe decision based on him having the handspeed to fire first from the outside and the chin to stand up to Hagler's shots when he does land, so long as he fights smart. Marvin's not the kind of fighter anyone would take lightly, though.

This thread has already been up, gosh that sucks. Oh well, I won't put anyone down for picking either one. Just want to hear people's opinions.

Been over this before. Hagler is 160 from same day weigh in, Calzaghe 175 from day before weigh in. He's much the bigger man and has enough to make it count and take a competitive decision.

Hagler fought best when the opponent came to him, and fought his least best when fighters moved away from him

Calzaghe put on good performences when fighters came to KO him.

Calzaghe fights rushing forward, and Hagler sets up his opponent for the KO

    would have been interesting.

hagler was UNREAL but he was certainly not better in EVERY way...handspeed and footwork...joe calzaghe is the master of those 2 ...I would say calzaghe could win a dec with his size and skill but damn hard to bet against hagler

The thing that makes this a tough one to answer is this...

If hagler fought at 168lb how would that effect his speed, stamina, movement etc.

Look how the weight gain effected Pavlik? If it doesnt harm him, then Hagler would win a close but clear 12 round decision, if it does, then Calzaghe could win.

At Light Heavy I would probally say he wouldn't carry it up well, but I think at 168 he would carry his weight just fine.

not bad although haglers chin would not be a factor as there is NO way JC would KO him even if he had a bad chin...calzaghes chin would make the dif in this fight...if it holds up he would prob win a tight dec
