I've seen a lot of discussion, but i want to see what the general feeling is about this fight.. I myself believe that Calzaghe will outclass Hopkins and win a decision.

"Outclass" is completely the wrong word in my view, but I too see Calzaghe winnind a clear UD, by virtue of workrate.

But i'm still freakishly suspicious of Hopkins. I just can't see why he's taken the match, and I wonder about what it is he thinks he can do with Calzaghe.

He must know better than you and me for example.

    only because of hopkins' age.
this fight 8 years ago would have been much more interesting.

While I think Joe by UD is the most likely result I'm going to stick my neck out here and go for Joe by mid to late stoppage after a career defining performance.

I like Joe on this one..Hop is a dinosaur and he would have problem tying Joe up and thats his only shot

Well, Im the first to chime in on the other side of the arguement.

I think Hopkins by clear UD.

I think his movement will negate Calzaghe's tremendous workrate...and his timing and accuracy (and counterpunching ability) will negate his speed advantage. Stylistically Hopkins has a clear advantage....physically Joe has a clear advantage....but styles are what make fights (as much as I hate that saying...it seems to ring true FAR MORE than not).

The punch stats are going to surprise MANY people being much lower than Calzaghe fans are used to...almost even by fight end...with Bernard landing the much cleaner punches.

Wow Im surprised and I really dont care for both frankly. I dont think Hop can mug Joe and I certainly cant see him landing cleaner punches. However many punches both guys throw. ratio will be 2:1 calzaghe in volume. Its just numbers really

a career defining performance was on offer several years ago for joe but - beating a fossilised jones or hopkins now just isn't going to give him a legitimate feather in his cap.

    amen.
but just watch joe big up this win simply on the basis that he never beat a proven world class fighter in his prime.

he still won't have after this fight.
