Hopkins by UD. Hopkins is going to take Cal out of his confort zone. He's going to stay close and up in Cal's chest the whole fight. He's not going to let Cal fight at a distance. Won't allow Cal to fully use his speed.

I agree that 2008 Hopkins is not a career-defining fight for Joe. But your point that Joe should have done more to make it happen sooner just isn't valid in light of the fact that

    (a) Bernard really wan't such a big name until after his 2001 fight with Tito

    and

    (b) Joe wanted the fight in 2002 and the fight was set up to happen in 2002 until Bernard got greedy and asked for double the $$$ that had been verbally agreed upon. At that point, the fight would have been competitive. I would still pick Joe by a closer decision, but at least it would have been a good match-up.

At this point, a victory over BHop is not even a top-four career fight for Joe but Bernard still has the name, and thet's why the fight is even taking place.

If you've followed the scene at 160 to 175, you would realize that Bernard is not even capable of dealing with Kessler at this point in his career.

I would like to see Bernard go out a winner. For that to happen, he should be fighting Miranda or Abraham or Pavlik, fights that are still winnable for him.

He has very little chance against Joe in 2008.

And as far as Joe goes, he should be fighting Dawson if he wants the accolades from true boxing fans and not just the crowd that follows the names.

Is Holmes remembered for defeating a well past prime Ali?

This fight is a disservice to both fighters with Joe clearly having more on the line.

It comes at least six years too late to be meaningful.

I think Calzaghe will win in spite of the referee and judges.

    Calzaghe by decision.

But im not really sure, his fight with Bika keeps springing to mind in the way he was dragged into a dog fight and Hopkins whilst not as great as he makes out is one of the best out there at implementing gameplans.

Jesus christ the idiots picking old ass Hopkins to beat one of the great SMW's of our day are ****ing delusional. The guy can't throw 10 punches per round while Calzaghe throws 100.

This fight is a complete MISMATCH.
