If this fight happens, we'll see how Calzaghe measures up to this version of Hopkins who's on the tail end of his career. I've heard so much of how good/ skilled Calzaghe is and how he's going to put a beating on Hopkins. A close decision either way you know favors Hopkins as he's now 43 and farther away from his prime. Calzaghe has a lot to proove in this fight.

Can JC put a beating on a 43 year old man, similar to what Pac did to a living legend in EM in their 2 & 3 fight. If he doesn't, a win wouldn't accomplish anything in this fight.

i would not say calzaghe was in his prime that was a passed a couple of years ago but hopkins ended many many moons ago, i still see no way that hopkins beats calzaghe prime 4 prime imo calzghe beats hopkins, the only super middle prime for prime i could say i would def favour over calzghe is roy jones.

    FLOL!

I nearly spat coffee all over my keyboard. Thanks.

    BHOP ---> :!:

    Oh my days... :patsch

Of course he isn't! Hopkins wouldn't even get near Kessler. Christ...

I think you'll find it's the Canadian, Hopkins, who gets exposed.

You know, the way that I see it, any prediction in this fight seems like a surprise to me. I can't decide how it will play-out, and I think I won't be surprised no matter what happens. Maybe Cal outworks him pitifully and scores a lop-sided win, maybe it's close and a tough fight to score, maybe B-Hop proves too hard to hit and consistently lands his right.. I honestly wouldn't be too surprised.

My opinion is that B-Hop wins a narrow victory in a fight that proves to be hard to score with certainty.

My prediction is that Joe will be putting on a complete boxing masterclass -- the best we've seen, even better than the Lacy fight.

Bernard will not know how to handle it. That's the truth. Joe fights best under pressure, and in this fight he has a whole lot to prove. The absolute worst thing Hops could have said to Joe is "I'll never let a white boy beat me" because it gave Joe even more of a reason to school him.

I think Hopkins knows a thing or two about pressure too though....

I don't think the racial thing will decide this fight, what will decide it is the age factor. If I had to bet on it I'd bet on Calzaghe at this stage but a few years ago I'd have bet the farm on Hopkins.

Can't wait for all the sack-swingers on here proclaiming Joe's greatness if he wins though :fire :fire :fire

You've really got something against Calzaghe and Hatton haven't you?

Is it them, or their more moronic fans you can't stand? (It's like me with English football. I'd love to see England win, but don't think I could bear the tabloid/nationalistic frenzy that would go on - even tho I live on theother side of the world!!!)

I think Cal will simply outwork him in the early rounds (first 4 rounds or so), and probably score some pretty exciting flurries on bhop. I don't think it's a good assumption, though, to think that he'll beat him down like he did Lacy. Hopkins is simply too skilled to just get dominated like that, with his uncanny ability to avoid flush shots. I believe Hopkins will fight even with Cal in the middle rounds, and figure out Cal's style in the last third for a narrow victory. I can see Hopkins landing the right in the last half of the fight enough to get him a point here and there on the judges cards to push him over the SD mark.

I've got nothing against Hatton at all....I just picked Mayweather to beat him and had money on the fight. I bet on Mayweather by KO in rounds 8,9 and 10 by the way :yep Certain things irritate me about Hatton yes but I wouldn't say I don't like him - I was a massive Lewis fan and thought sometimes he was a graceless ***** in post fight interviews, don't mean I don't like him as a fighter. Hatton won my respect the moment he signed to fight Mayweather and I've always posted to that effect. Whatever Hattons shortcomings he has balls and ambition.

Calzaghe on the other hand, doesn't. His resume speaks for itself in my opinion. He's a likeable guy I'm sure but I can't stand that idiot that promotes him. If Calzaghe had dropped Warren in the late 90's and made a beeline for the big names then I'd have a ton of respect for the guy but he didn't, so I don't.

I wouldn't rule out Hopkins scoring a knockdown either, Calzaghes been down before from lesser fighters than Hopkins.

Do you really think Hopkins will get KOed? I don't recall the last time he's been hit flush by a right hand lead let alone get hurt in a fight. I know Wright didn't land anything FLUSH. I know JT didn't land one CLEAN right hand lead in their two fights.

Hopkins makes you miss. His defense isn't flashy like PBF but it works. He knows how to fight in the ring. He's going to have a plan for Calzaghe as he had a plan for Wright. He's probably going to make Calzaghe chase him all fight long with side to side movement and then when Calzaghe comes in, BAM, counter right hand time and time again coming in.
