I'd rather see Hopkins fight Kessler, Kessler would KO his ass easily

You know that this is going to be a one-sided UD for Calzaghe.

Are you making excuses already ?

Freaken hilarious. Yeah, Hopkins would allow himself to get hit with clean shots right since he has a history of getting caught with clean, flush shots right?

This fight will go to the end, with Calz out-pointing Hopkins. If it goes ANY other way I would be very surprised. Joe probably won't knock Hops out, and there is no way Hops will be knocking Joe out.

The States can expect another UK invasion or Welsh invasion,:hi:. Calzaghe brings 50,000+ fighting in Cardiff and i would expect no less than 20,000 flying out to LV OR NY.
It should of happened a few yrs back i mean Joe has been the Man for over 10yrs and B.Hop was special a few yrs back i don`t think this will be Joe`s hardest fight. Kessler would hammer B.Hop today which speaks volume to what Joe will do to B.Hop!
People forget C.Eubank was the hardest super middleweight 10 yrs ago and he got knocked on his butt 1 st punch by a very young Joe.
Really the fight that we want to see is Taylor v Calzghe as i don`t see B.Hop as that defining fight for Joe to finish his career with, c`mon he`s a 43 yrs old trash talker stepping in the ring with a master of this day. B.Hop have had his moments but it`s over for him.
B.Hop throws in the towel by the 10th. Well and truly Executed!!:!:

Hopkin is too old. Calzaghe`s speed would beat him up.

that is fine but will calzaghe give hopkins time to backpeddle set traps/right hand and clinch.

if calzaghe fights at a fast pace (he always does) then hopkins is not going to be able to fall back , reset/set a trap and counter because his opponent is going to be continuesly throwing leather.

even against tarver hopkins landed way less punches on tarver than kessler did on calzaghe.

against winky he threw only about 40% of what calzaghe churns out and that was against a stationary right in front of him target who never moved his feet, namely wright.

against taylor in 2 fights hopkins averaged about 20 to 30 punches a round with only single digit numbers landing.

calzaghe will pose just as many problems for bernard as bernard will for calzaghe.

this fight has UD written all over it. no way calzaghe is going to knock out 'impossible to hit clean' hopkins and no way hopkins is going to knock out 'hit me with anything and i'll keep coming' calzaghe. not to mention neither are bomb specialists.

The HBO ratings were good considering Kessler, as good as he is, was unknown in the USA before the Calzaghe match.

Calzaghe / Hopkins will do well in the USA, especially with the right sort of promotion (i.e., 24 / 7) and extremely well in the UK.

Both Calzaghe and Hopkins have unique personalities that should bolster the entire event.

    I can't wait!!

I don't see how these Calzaghe groupies don't understand this...Bernard is way too crafty to be knocked out

I am not a Calzaghe groupie. But Bernard's craftiness is overrated. Who has he beated, except blown up welterweights and a weight drained Tarver?

Watch Calzaghe's skills. Will be too much for Bernard. Also how will Bernard cope with Calzaghe's accuracy, speed and work rate (100 punches per round)?

Bernard can only throw a few punches per round. He lost to Winky and to Taylor twice?

At his age, Bernard is at risk for taking a bad beating and being TKO'd late.

Please, Hopkins does make you miss. And while it is true that he does clinch and hold to stutter a figher's offense sometimes, that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to him making people miss. Every second he's in the ring, he knows what he's doing. Every movement he makes is calculated and planned.

Wright was a guy who was known for his high output and come forward style yet when Wright fought Hopkins, he looked like a C class fighter. And it's because of Hopkins.

JT was supposed to be this young and talented MW but he didn't land one clean lead right hand in two fights. And that wasn't an accident. Hopkins made him miss.

On the lfip side, Hopkins landed plenty of counter lead right hands against both fighters. The only thing that will keep Hopkins from losing this fight is if age finally catches up to him. If he still has the same skills when he fought Wright, Hopkins will win.
