Sir, I would like to invite you aboard: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90518&highlight=hope+jones+express
These days? Sure. Losing a chunk of what you love in life will do that to a man. Especially when he magically finds he's in a position to win it back.
OH YES!!! GO ROY!!!! :happy:happy:happy PS: Sadly, I don't see how Jones can beat the Welshman... but there's always hope!!!
I think Roy had an arrogant persona, back in the day, but he never crossed the line (like Hopkins, Vargas, Mayogra), and I don't remeber him ever throwing that many stupid insults at anyone, plus, he always had the skills to back it up. I've never met Roy, but what I've heard from others is that he is always good with his fans, always takes the time to chat with them, and is generally a quiet individual who doesn't go around in every day life telling everyone how great he is (Floyd).
no my reasoning being Roys style is based so much on reflexes and no matter how well you look after yourself your reflexes ALYWAYS deteriorate with age. I agree that this is no "joke fight" though , as I have already said I beleive Jones can still catch and occasionaly hurt Joe , just not regularly enough anymore to beat him.
I traveled to Wales to see Calzaghe vs. Kessler. I'm a HUGE Calzaghe fan, no doubt.....I agree that he hasn't always faced the best opposition, but I think, if he can beat Roy Jones his legacy will be secured in most people's eyes.....mainly due to the fact that Hopkins showed he wasn't that old on Saturday night so no one will be able to accuse Joe of 'beating' a shot Hopkins. However....here's the thing; I almost WANT Roy to win. If Roy, one of the first boxers I ever saw which pretty much immediately got me hooked when I was a kid, when pull this off, I think a Roy-B-Hop 2 would be a fight really worth seeing. Beating Calzaghe would show that Roy has got something left in the tank, and we know B-Hop has. I get the feeling it wouldn't be as cagey as their first fight.....They'd both feel they have something to prove and would go for it I think....I would also think that it be a fitting fight to end both their careers on.
BHop vs RJJ II is the #1 fight I wanna see made in boxing right now. I know it's like 15 years overdue and they are both shadows of their former selves but this would be ****ing classic. Just imagine the 24/7 series, the press conferences, the stare downs and trash talk between these two! Not to mention if BHop loses to Jones again the guy will either committ suicide or fight until he's 70yrs old due to dissatisfaction with his career :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Exactly. It's nearly 20 years in the making, and a win for Jones over Calzaghe would dispell the rumour he's shot and make it a viable contest. B-Hop this time though....by stoppage.
