Yes, your revisionism is obvious. Not to mention, your examples are friggin more in the line of what a child intersted in something foreign might suggest, then someone who supposedly is knowledgeable about all the intracacies of the sport, and realizing how complex most issues really are. But you Joe C fans...always look for an easy answer.atsch ANd BTW...WTF does Tito have to do with this?
even clinton woods had more ambition than joe. joe used ricky to get over on his promtional tour and set up a fight with hopkins. (then gets coked off his face and insults his peers and former friends disgracefully during news of the world sting!) when clinton was off to america to fight jones for a handful of world titles joe was getting ready to pull out of his megafight in belfast with Brian Magee!! ahahahhahahahhahahaha and im northern irish
Yeah PP just named a few more. I cba continuing this. Calzaghe beat more top 10 fighers than Toney has and probably Hopkins too. Give him his dues. Calzaghe's also the only guy I'd bet my house on being clean out of the four too.
Where the **** did I say Vaca was great? I didn't even compare Vaca to any fighter I just said that's who Jones has left over...
Great post!!! Prime Calzaghe had an iron chin, healthy hands and a hard punch to go along with his incredible speed and ridiculous workrate. I agree with Manny Steward who called the Jones-Calzaghe oldman fight. "Joe would have been a very difficult fight for Roy at anytime in their careers."
The ponderous face-first Mitchell was inflated into some great win by the British boxing press at the time
It wasnt the brits tipping lacy to smash calzaghe, some did perhaps but those who knew how good calzaghe was didnt bet against him Many AMERICANS tipped lacy to win because they were ignorant to how good calzaghe was, the brits knew calzaghe was the real deal and he proved it that night and suddenly all the ones tipping lacy dissapeared like magic And it was all "ahh but lacy was overrated anyway blah blah" BS the fact is lacy was never the same fighter after that night never has been the same, just as kessler never has been the same. Two fighters many tipped on forums to beat calzaghe, lacy too powerful, kessler seen as too technical for calzaghe Too technical for calzaghe?? when i saw those comments i fell over laughing, kessler had been excellent up to that point but Calzaghe showed his class
I saw no way Lacy could beat Calzaghe other than Calzaghe beating himself and losing - like leaving himself wide open, charging in with his chin up, loading up with no defense, or something. If Calzaghe was on his game and didn't make drastic mistakes, to me it was two fighters in two different leagues before the fight. Lacy looked Terrible against a shot Sheika and Pemberton.
