Oh gee, a poll on a site where the majority of people think Calzaghe sucked as a fighter, let alone had a **** resume while idolising Roy. Even I've said that Roy has a better resume, several times - I've just said, it's not as definitive as you guys think, over and over again. Make a poll all you want, I'm sure Jones Jr will win it by 70-80% - but then realising he's an American fighter, start understanding that he will have a bias in the poll.
It has nothing to do with him being an American fighter you dumbass, get real. Calzaghe just faced lower calibre fighters than Jones did. It's an irrefutable fact.
I agree and I kind of disagree. I agree that Hopkins studied Joe and decided he could only win by getting dirty. Unfortunately for him Joe was a massively experienced long-term champion who could play the street-fighting game with any man, even Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins could have fought Joe clean at distance or even inside as they were both massive talents but he was mentally beaten once Joe matched his vile, dirty tactics, punch for punch by the fourth round. Joe was willing to fight after the fourth round fair to determine the champ. Hopkins ran like a *****. This fight , I maintain will be one of Joe's greatest victories. It illustrates his massive will to win even when his opponents want to lowblow and hide. I also think that it is a great fight to watch as it shows a great fighter winning and displaying great attitude against a total lowlife; albeit one with worldclass skills.
Stamina, heart, will to win something joe had in spades, he finds a way to win the sign of a great champion, hopkins was so dissapointing that night. And for some to say they thought hopkins won was hilarious on here They then said hopkins was finished and he went on to school Pavlik (the man tipped as the guy who could dethrone calzaghe)
so was joe. i was at the fight. horrible performance by both fighters in a crap fight. joe's win over bhop looks good on paper but if you watch it, it's hardly a great performance. he barely outworked a 43 yr old bhop to a split dec.
You try looking good against a guy hanging onto your shorts all fight and feigning injuries He was a disgrace (he was the ring champion LH) But lookes like he wanted to tango with calzaghe. Joe was trying to break and all Hopkins wanted to do was hug him and go in with the head, well he met someone who can box but play him at his own game also if he wanted a dirty fight.
It was a shocking performance by Calzaghe give credit to Hopkins for doing so; but he also ran from Calzaghe all nite long.
I dont have to try and make an arguement because all you have done is made a statement without reasoning and with no background. This is why I school you so easily atsch time and time again. Still a little taster with a question thrown in How do you think Harding is better than those fighters mentioned atsch Sheika beat Johnson who beat Jones Woods lost to Starie who Calzaghe beat atsch Veit, you obviously dont even know anything about, as Veit took undefeated Braehmers 0, a far better fighter than Harding You forget to note how Hill and McCallum had also suffered recent defeats before Roy faced them. Forget to mention Jones is a proven cheat. Forgot to mention Roy was never the clear proven man of a division, unlike Calzaghe. You see I can answer, you cant and didnt
Harding beat Tarver and Griffin, better than any wins Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall, Sheika and Veit have....Deal with it, it's an irrefutable fact. :deal Sheika never beat Johnson, it was a robbery i seen it. :deal Did I even mention McCallum as a good win for Jones? Epic Fail...:rofl:deal YOU forgot to mention Eubank suffered two recent losses against Collins before Joe beat him, then went on and suffered two more losses against Cruiserweight bum Carl Thompson. YOU forgot to mention Byron Mitchell suffered a recent loss against Ottke and had NO meaningful wins after him, when he met Joe YOU forgot to mention that Charles Brewer suffered a recent loss against Ottke and one against Echols where he was TKO'ed and had NO meaningful wins after them, by the time he fought Calzaghe YOU forgot to mention Richie Woodhall suffered a recent loss against Markus Beyer and had NO meaningful wins after him, by the time he fought Calzaghe. YOU forgot to mention Robin Reid got pwned by Thulani Malinga before he met Calzaghe. YOU forgot to mention Sakio Bika doesn't have one single good win on his resume.
Thank's my man, how about i take my massive bellend and insert it into your tight ass? How does that sound?
more proof if ever we needed it tonight why jones doesen't hang with real greats like calzaghe 1 - his chin is an absoloute disgrace, pure grade A china 2 - he cannot adapt during a fight if plan A isn't working 3 - when faced with adversity he folds like a lawn chair 4 - he's never been the same since he stopped taking banned anabolic steroids.
we need to give you your own "special" place where you can make your posts. calzaghe is a nothing compared to jones. fans in 10 years won't know who calzaghe was but jones will be talked about with the greats. there's not much you can do about that.
10 years from now, fans will be talking about how a shot to **** joe calzaghe lacyied roy jones in his own backyard :deal
