Many have been predicting a Calzaghe win from the off, and rightfully so, Jones is far removed from his prime but.......there are several factors that may make the outcome more of a 50/50 match than people are preicting:

    1. Jones Speed.....Roy has the faster hands.....Speed usuallyoffsets an opponents moves. There is nothing Joe has done in the past to prepare him for Roys Speed.

    2. Left Hook Jones has a brutal left hook...even now...I think if an average puncher like B-Hop can hurt Joe, I think ROy has a very good chance of hurting Joe as well.

    3. Jones is extremely accurate.

    4. Calzaghe will be approaching 37 ....hes no spring chicken.

    5. Only the 2nd time Joe has fought a fighter with world class skills. Look what happened the 1st time he fought a genuine Top fighter (even though he was past his best)

The main factor in this fight is Jones is well faded, and has been for a few years. Jones isnt the speed demon that he once was...5 years ago I would have picked Jones by UD 7 years ago by KO...Today I think that Joe will outwork Jones and win.

    7) Even if Roy was 137 years old, he had skills in his prime so he's got half a chance because he can still turn the clock back

Correction. B-Hop didn't hurt JC, he caught him off balance with a perfectly placed counter straight right.

thePresident, you should stop posting analysis, when you are a hater of Calzaghe, as you are incapable of having even a slight objective view on the matter.

Now it just falls through as a ill-educated dreamtheater.

The keys for Roy winning are:

1.Stepping in with big straight right-hands instead of pot shoting the right hand from a safe distance, the extra 2-3 inches will make all the difference.

2.Nicking points off calzaghe while Joe holds on.This is were Roy needs to work hard, lots of short hooks and body punches.Has anyone seen calzaghe take hard shots to the body for 12 rounds?

3.Learing to fight on the retreat more often this does not mean alot of footwork just something like ray robinson did.Double Jabbing moving backwards/sideways,clunch then work on the inside again

4.The left hook of course and the short right hook he somethimes throws.

5.And finally take some risks, less of the picture book fightng.

I'm putting a small wager on Roy to win on

The Roy Jones left hook ... leaping left hook or check left hook, followed by a right hand over the top ...

Calzaghe has never faced a guy with a right hand that comes as fast as RJJ does.
