I think Calzaghe will out hustle Kessler in a very VERY Close fight that set up Pavlik vs Calzaghe some time in 2008:deal After Kelly Knocks out Joe, he then can take on Kessler:bbb

:D Forget Joe and Kessler, Pavlik would go life and death with supermiddleweights' second tier. Lacy, Andrade, Mundine, Bute, Braehmer
(if he bothers to train) even Froch (who's a massive puncher but one of the most horrible boxers i've seen in ages), all have more than a shot against Pavlik.

Pavliks' photo is right next to words 'cheese champion'. He's got workrate, pressure, and solid (but now frankly overrated) power. Guys' often sloppy, punching wide, telegraphing, throwing some punches from to far out and arm punching at times. Anyone comparing him to Tommy Hearns offensively is braindead, as is anyone who thinks he'd beat up Dawson.

His jab is good, not amazing in offence, it's a long power jab, made to look better than it was as Taylor lost steam and stopped moving his head while keeping his own left low, but frankly he drops it down to his waist on his return. That'll be suicide against a powerful counter puncher, his hand speed (lets face it, if he had Taylors' hand speed he could get away with it more), and the fact he's planted right in front of you when he does that is frankly stupid. He's not particularly slick anyway, Pavlik needs a hell of a lot of fine tuning.

I'm still looking forward to this fight. It's huge for the division, people have been begging for it for some time and it's here before Calzaghe got too washed up. It's a hard pick and has the potential to be a very good fight... I would also pick pav to KO both of these fighters, but not without a fight. Pavlik is two or three big fights away from going down as an ATG.

The guy who started the thread about it being fight of the century is from Ohio.

This is a great fight, it's enough that this is a fight MANY have been asking for(including myself). Either enjoy it or watch anything else, complaining will only make you look foolish.

This fight is a good fight but far from the fight of the century, its not even the best fight this year. 90% of people on here would much rather see Hatton/Mayweather, now thats a real fight.

Euros, Americans, Black, White....doesn't anyone here just watch boxing for the fight? Way too much concern and emphasis on where a fighter is from or where his fans are from.

Mosely - Cotto is not unification and you have one past prime fighter in there in Mosley. It isn't the #1 vs #2, it is something more like #2-3 vs #3-#5.

Cotto-Mosley is the bigger fight viewers wise and possibly money wise, but it is a far less significant fight.

Pavlik gave us one of the most exciting fights of recent times and you call him a "cheese champion". Do you not like boxing?

Hey, i'm just dishing a little back, stirring a little **** for a laugh, nothing wrong with that :p.

I do think he's being grossly overrated though, what Euro fan compares Kessler to Tommy Hearns? Or says he'd beat the equivalent of Hagler :think, I stand by my assessment of Pavlik, 'cheese champion' was just something to get a reaction.
