A sneak peak into the thought processes of a Kessler fan:

Kessler has won most of his fight thus far by using his jab as his best weapon. So in their minds, they come to the conclusion, he can do the same to Calzaghe.
However this is foolish, as they are forgetting one thing. Calzaghe is brilliant on the outside also. However the reasons why the Kessler fans ignore this, can be easily explained.

Calzaghe is known by many to be as his best as a swarmer type fighter. Arguably the best in the world at it. Then a common analytical error occurs. Having already come to the conclusion Calzaghe is great swarmer, they feel satisfyed with their analysis and don't see fit, or rather forget to analyse his outside game. It is the equivalent of a chess player spotting an excellent move and immediately moving before checking for other good move available. It leads to errors. It is especially convenient for the Kessler fan to not bother analysing 'swarmer' Calzaghe outside game, as this is where Mike Kessler excels. It is like the Lacy fans who failed to realise Calzaghe could outbox or out brawl renouned slugger Lacy. It is just the way Lacy and Kessler fans attempt to justify their views, to themselves.

So to summerize the thinking of a Kessler fans thinking:
Calzaghe brilliant swarmer + Kessler with brilliant jab and boxing skills = Kessler can win on the outside

    WRONG

Not only is Calzaghe the best swarmer in boxing right now, he is also one of the very best (if not number one) boxers on the outside. Nobody has ever, ever got the better of him at range, ever. His speed, movement and accuracy means he is actually better than Mike at range.

    So:
Calzaghe immensely brilliant swarmer + Calzaghe immensely brilliant boxer + Kessler average inside game + Kessler brilliant boxer = Calzaghe winning on inside and outside = doom for Kessler

That post is to long and strange for me to read when I can just wait and see.

I'm picking Calzaghe at the moment. One word of weirdness from the Calzaghe camp and i'm switching.

Kessler will always be the better man on the outside. Simple as that really.

    Great post nonetheless...

I'm still tipping Calzaghe slightly as well due to his versatility, but this is close enough that both sides should be considered.

So many of the Calzaghe fans have displayed a lazy arrogance -- they're begging for a comeuppance.

My friend, strangeness surrounds the camp and the entire fanbase. We're arguably the oddest bunch ever as a whole.

Perhaps....cept those 2 or 3 Ruiz fans. They are odd based sheerly on that.

Sure. But the JC fanbase is generally extremely knowledgable about boxing, other fanatical fanbases are often just stupid. Then add in the eccentric qualities and just CHJ himself, we take the cake.
