Although it is impossible this matchup could ever take place, who would you pick to win?

Kessler would take about three decades to work out Calzaghe's style.

It only took Calzaghe 6 months to forget how to jab mind you.

Ha ha - the picture I contemplate painting constitutes a halfway state and an attempt to point out the direction of the future... without arriving there completely.

Calzaghe's not hungry anymore. He wouldn't fight Kessler anyway. Why would he? He would only fight Kessler again if he was really hungry and felt he had something to prove. He isn't and doesn't. If he was really hungry and felt he had something to prove, he'd put in another very good performance, but Kessler would fight in a way that would work better against Calzaghe too...

I couldn't discount a win for Kessler this time, but most likely, Calzaghe would win again, but by very close decision - something like 115-114...

On the other hand, Kessler would start going for the big bombs straight through...Calzaghe might have to watch himself more and that could give Kessler the win...

Too close to call, Calzaghe v. Kessler II, though, of course, I wouldn't bet against Calzaghe. But this time, I wouldn't be surprised if Kessler won it.

I'm going to say Calzaghe by a closer decision (possibly an MD or a SD), based on his deteriorating physical gifts and Kessler's potential to learn from the loss and make adjustments. I still think that Calzaghe's adaptability and versatility will see him through.

If this occurs in mid/late 2009, I'd go with Kessler.

Depends how Kessler deals with the loss and whether he comes back a better fighter.

Joe basically ruled out a rematch immediately on the basis that:

    1. He'd have problems 'getting up' for the fight
    2. He dislikes rematches (KO1 Mario Veit 1, TKO6 Mario Veit 2)
    3. Kessler is only going to improve............TBC

I'v noticed that people are starting to write off Calzaghe after his performance against Hopkins saying that he is not hungry etc, to be honest I think he was a bit cocky against Hopkins and thought he would win easy...as we know he had a kick up the ass.
One thing about joe is that he has massive pride, he will come back better after this and want to make a statement. He joked on the welsh news programme that maybe he wasnt as good at the weight as he thought he'd be so maybe a move back to smw maybe on the cards.

And here lies the problem. Calzaghe never jokes.

    He's can't be hungry anymore.

    CHJ!!!!!! :fire

Why did you word this as "WOULD"?

I cannot answer this question as it is worded.

Calzaghe SHOULD still win a rematch.

    Kessler COULD.

    60-40.

First fight was 70-30 (though I think I may have overzealously called it 60-40 going in)

if kessler were to fight joe again im quite sure he would take it..... remember the guy was injured and didnt fight after round 6... 36 hours after the fight he was operated... didnt do any sparring 3 weeks before the fight because of the hand....

Not tryin to take anything away from joe....hes a great champ.....but kessler wasent near 100 % that night...... and in my mind he would take the win in vegas....

If Calzaghe were going to fight a SMW, it would be Bute, anyway.

But there's no hunger and nothing to prove anymore.

Calzaghe will take money against a legend like RJJ in a nice, farewell fight in Cardiff, AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!:deal

Or maybe he'll risk a fight with young, hungry, dangerous Kelly Pavlik...................TBC

Only Calzaghe knows if he's got enough left in the tank to take another hard fight.

If he hasnt the hunger which could well be the case, I just hope he can find his mojo back for his last fight. Hopefully he'll put on a masterclass for all his fans in Cardiff.
Be a fullhouse and a great sendoff!
