He's not getting Pavlik. Pavlik has plans at MW. He will only move up to SMW when he's done everything that needs to be done at MW. He'd lose a decision against Dawson in the USA, if he fought him.

So...RJJ in Cardiff is what it's going to be.

I wouldn't be going to the Millennium Stadium to watch any fight. It's an awful venue to watch boxing. The ticket prices will be higher also. I'd sooner travel to Madison Square Garden than Cardiff.

RJJ fight will be good and worth seeing. Both have enough in the tank to make it tactical but interesting. It'll defintely be better than the Hopkins fight!

Yeah I agree to a point about the Millenium Stadium but would be a great experience to say that you have been to a fight involving two great fighters of their era's in possibly their last ever fight.
Something to tell the grandkids, it is ****ing expensive mind!

Millenium Stadium was an amazing experience, at least at the Kessler fight. Worth every penny.

Yes clubber, that would be the only reason to go. The atmosphere would be decent (not like the many rugby internationals I've been to though) I guess but in terms of the fight, I think I'd rather watch it at home.

Calzaghe will have to put in a better performance in his last fight than what he put in against Hopkins. Definitely a better fight since RJJ will want to make it competitive and will bring more stamina to the table than Hopkins.

    I want this fight.

I'm sure many people want this fight.

    Flood the promoters with emails.

Make them think this is the most lucrative thing they can do! Make them forget the names Jones and Pavlik! :happy

The fight is a non-starter... think what HBO would have to say about it.

As China hand jo said "it's impossible"

I don't know about that. Jones threw about the same number of punches against Trinidad as Hopkins did against Calzaghe. His stamina is about the same level as Hopkins' stamina right now. And factor in Calzaghe's pressure and punch output along with Roy's defensive shell and low-workrate. To me, Calzaghe will have an easier time against Jones (even though I'd like for it to be highly competitive).

I always like to watch the big fights at home too because I dont like too miss anything, the last time I watched a big fight live was Hamed vs Robinson...the most one sided, disappointing fight ever!
The atmosphere at the Kessler fight did seem really good, great to see loads of Danes over here!

I personally dont want to see Calzaghe vs Kessler, its history no need for the fight!

    WhatI was thinking.

Joe will never look good against a defensive master. Never.

A slowed up Jones isn't a defensive master.

People just don't seem to realise how Joe can be dragged down into a dogged, scratchy fight by people like Hopkins, Starie, Bika etc. and expect him to look like he did vs Lacy/Kessler... They are opponents who tried to box their own fights. Hopkins et al were intent on stemming Joe's output and to a large extent, found ways to do that.

Easier time and better fight. Maybe you're right about the stamina.

I think it depends on the venue. A lot of people are talking about Kesslers lack of sparring. Well, Cal virtually never spars so maybe thats a bit off. But OK Kesslers manager was in the intensive ward. Tha might have worried him. And they played the wrong national anthem :-(!

I think Kes may have worried too much about getting robbed (they complained about the jusges) and gone for the stoppage (missing big swings etc) rather than going for the points.
