Calzaghe Vs Pavlik.. KO or UD?

I don't hate Calzaghe but for a 44-0 record only really fighting 2 maybe 3 DECENT fighters he doesnt deserve the cumcatching he gets on this site

Would he be way down on the cards at the time?

 

You may be new to boxing but it is universally understood that Judges are like robbers without ski-masks.
That being said does a judges score matter when Joe gets a whiplash induced nap via the hands of Kelly Pavlik?? Anothers credibility shot downatsch

pavlik is overrated. he is a white hope. he almost was finished in round 2 against jermain taylor of all people, not known for his power. im not even sure pavlik can beat taylor in the rematch.

 

You have no credibility not for your opinion but for the question "who would be ahead on the cards" in the process concedeing to a Pavlik KO while previously saying Calzaghe TKO....Thats right you OWNED yourself..I just pointed it out...I have no problem with a difference of opinion...what helps your credibility is if you are able to illustrate the WHY and HOW...which you dont do

 

What I was asking was, as Jose FM thought Pavlik would KO Joe.

Pavlik's not even as good as Kessler, not at 168, and has shown a susceptible chin. Calzaghe by TKO.

 

I disagree. Pavlik is not as steady nor as solid. At 168, I doubt his power is better either. Kessler has never shown any chin problems, Pavlik has. Kessler is the better pure boxer. The only difference between the two style-wise is that Pavlik is more of a come-forward boxer, otherwise they are similar and Kessler holds most edges. I'd bet the house on Kessler if they were to fight. Pavlik's aggression could offset Joe a bit, but nothing he couldn't handle.

 

Kelly would outbox him, force the fight(Joe wouldnt be able to win fighting in spurts as he does usually)
Kelly can box well enough to get inside Joe and punish him
The fact that Joe doesnt have the power will allow Kelly to do what he does to every fighter...it just may take a little longer with Joe..
That's basically it mate
Joes intelligence keeps him alive for a little while longer
I like Joe it's just a bad fight for Joe and a horrible way to end a flawless career..
So....we know Joe cant hurt Kelly all this does is allow Kelly to do what he does
Seen Kelly train for Taylor2?? his ****ing jab is scary quick and powerful mate
I don't think we've seen Kellys peak yet... we've seen Joes.. yet another reason the fights all wrong for Joe

 

Why is every white american fighter of note for the past few years labeled a 'white hope.' Almost in your wishful thinking doesn't count because Pavlik recovered and proceeded to dominate Taylor as no one ever had. We'll see what happens in the rematch. I guess we know who you are rooting for. It is just so hypocritical that all we heard for all these years is wat bums most white fighters were. Fighters like Gerry Cooney and Tomy Morrison were mocked in late night talk show monologues continually. Sports Illlustrated had an article about what happened to the white athlete? Boxing was discussed. Now, a few short years later the HW division is dominated by white men. Where are the articles and late night monologues now? Hopkins makes a blatantly racist remark to Calzaghe right out in the open. If the tables had been turned JC would have been an anathema now. Of course his IQ is probably at least 100 points higher than Hopkins' so we must be tolerant. The hypocracy of politically correct media is a joke.

 

JC is much faster but does not have superior defense and Kelly hits way to f'ing hard. Pavlik wins KO 7 - 10 rounds.
