    :think

To be quite honest, I think you've changed my mind on this topic, at least to a comfortable medium. On Kessler/Pavlik anyway, not Pavlik/Calzaghe.

I'll analyze some more footage of both fighters and come back. Good post.

Calzaghe is a different fight for sure but the outcome would be the same due to Joes lack of power and the fact that he leaves himself open about as much as Taylor does if not MORE
The Power factor is the difference here...without the power from Joe Pavlik will work his gameplan to perfection

Good idea Pea. You're usually a very good poster, and you give Pav some credit sometimes, but not enough other times:yep That's my rarely ever humble opinion!

AND, if Kelly ever fought a full 12 rounds, he'd be around 1000 punches too. Joe's got nothin' on him where work rate is concerned.

Exactly..If anyone cares to rewatch Kessler-Calzaghe after the 4th or 5th round Kesslers mind hit the shithouse...he looked like a bewildered Judah or some ****....and then in the 12th remembered why he was there....And sorry Boo i didnt..am I to assume you said virtually the same thing?

Kessler knew he had to KO Joe to win that fight, but he never pushed the pace. I question his heart myself. And comparing Kessler's power to Pavlik's is simply insane. Pavlik destroys people. What legit opponent has Kessler ever stopped? Pavlik regularly stops fighters that have NEVER been stopped. Taylor, Miranda, Zuniga, McKart, Zertuche.. none of these guys have ever been KO'd. Each and every one of these guys were brutally KO'd against Kelly. Taylor shitted in his pants as he lumped into the corner. Ask Arthur Abraham and Allan Green how tough of an SOB Miranda is. Kelly ate him up like nothing. Zertuche redefined the term "out on his feet"..

I don't buy this crap that Kelly is chinny either. Taylor rocked him with a good shot. He shook it off and won the next round. If Joe beats Pavlik, it's by decision. No way in hell Joe stops Pavlik. I can see Joe giving him a boxing lesson, but I can also see Joe get rocked like he's never been before!

I think Pavlik takes his power up to SM but it took Pavlik a while to find Taylor and I say Joe is way too clever. If JC does get caught he can take it unlike Taylor. I see it being very close and it would be a fitting end if JC wins.

now i dont agree with this. too many people say if joe was in his prime etc. joe is in his prime. his performance against kessler was his best yet. he is still improving with every fight and like JC himself said. the fighter he is now would kick the ass of a fighter he was 4 years ago. JC by UD

  10. Joe won' have to 'come down' in weight for crying out loud, he won't be putting on any extra bulk for Hopkins, he just won't have to drain himsef so much like 168 because he walks around above that anyone so it's no biggie fighting back there after this fight!

If you think Joe will take steroids to make mass think again, the man isn't that dumb, he likes his attributes as they are.

    Sooooo...

Joe says he'd be interested in this fight if Kelly comes through and if he beats Hopkins.

Other than the clowns that would then accuse Joe of ducking Dawson - is there a better fight for him to finish with? I can't see another.

Rating Kessler at the moment is difficult. I for one think he is the real deal but time will tell. As for Pavlik, after Joe beats him all we'll hear is how limited he was and how he was just a puncher.

I actualy like to see Pavlik and Calzaghe, becouse both guys have great work rate and Pavlik doesnt look like guy who can be discouraged if hes loosing on points later on. I favor Calzaghe to win on points. I definetly wouldnt like to see Taylor vs Calzaghe coz it would be Lacy vs Calzaghe all over again.

Calzaghe will beat Hopkins, then I think he will fight Pavlik and it could go either way. I'd say Calzaghe UD.
