Just because Calzaghe is a good fighter, and the most accomplished SMW ever, doesn't mean I am being biased or stupid by saying Roy Jones beats him very handily.

Being unbiased doesn't mean saying a fight will be close when it won't be close just because both fighters are great champions. Ricky Hatton is a great champion, but it isn't biased of me to have predicted Floyd to beat him rather handily. It doesn't make me a Floyd nuthugger.

Not only does Jones win this fight, but I reckon most of the people who are saying it's a close fight are just worried about their reputations more than anything else. It doesn't take a genius to see that Roy Jones would definitely beat Calzaghe, and probably BADLY. I wouldn't be shocked if he won something like 11 rounds to 1, or a KO. Honestly, Calzaghe is great and all, but Jones is one of the best of all time.

Jones hit guys with 20 punch combos. He had more accuracy and power than Calzaghe.

HE IS MUCH FASTER THAN CALZAGHE. Watch prime RJJ tapes. Watch the handspeed. Jones is faster at 175 than Calzaghe is at 168. Jones throws crisper and harder combinations.

SPEED KILLS. You are predicting a win from a WEAKER, SLOWER, LESS AWKWARD fighter. I've seen Calzaghe get hit flush by modest opposition. Jones didn't get hit flush by much better opposition.

YOU OVERESTIMATE JC. I can see you are a huge fan and all, but you need to watch RJJ at his best. There is just no comparison. He landed 4 hooks in the matter of a second or 2 on a guy. He knocked a dude out with both hands behind his back (all it took was one right hand). He destroyed a live Virgil Hill with a single body shot.

JONES HAD SOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY WAYS TO BEAT A PERSON, and he was in tremendous shape, had great stamina, and godly reflexes. There is just nothing that JC did better than Roy Jones in his peak. I can't find a single major category where JC outperformed Roy.

You say JC has great ring movement. Has he ever been the SLOWER and WEAKER fighter??? Against Jones, he'd have slower hands, feet, and weaker puncher. He'd also have less defensive ability, slower reflexes, etc.

There is just no way that I could bet against RJJ beating JC. That's the difference between the BEST fighter in the division today, and MAYBE the BEST fighter in the division EVER...

I go with RJJ on points, say 8 rounds to 4..

Its hard to tell, il put it this say, Jones seems smarter alround and quicker, dont think he knocks Joe out but yet again i cant see Joe having the power to KO RJJ

    RJJ 116-112

    In their prime:

Was Calzaghe better than Jones at any of these?

    Punching power?
    Speed of punches?
    Creative combinations?
    Balance?
    Reflexes?
Defense (moreso how often they got hit cleanly)?
    Raw athleticism?

I would say Jones was better on all fronts. That's not diminishing JC, but RJJ was just better...

Just because other posts disagree with my opinion it doesnt change anything because thats all it is an opinion!

And no i didnt think Hatton would win, I wanted him to badly coz mayweather for some reason think its fine to act like a c*nt beore a fight, but i knew who had the most skill coming into the fight and come round ten it showed.

Ok show me a tape of him doing a 20 hit combo , and im positivie that he could not keep that work rate up against calzaghe cos what ever calzaghe does ive seen him win through , guys go toe to toe with calzaghe he figures out there ryhtem then lands five combos while the other person is still woundering where that came from (LAcy fight)

Ive watched RJJ and there are tons of moments in his fights where he stays away and meassures up his opponent calzaghe wouldnt give him a time to do that , rjj always had time to make the first move , calzaghe wouldnt have him do that ,

If RJJ has to fight the way he wants then he will just have to keep on trying to make calzaghe make mistakes which he really does , Jones was a superp talent but i keep watching his tapes and compare them to calzaghe and i always feel there are oppeninings to which JC can land more fluent shots

IF JC did win the fight , I wouldnt be surprised and If RJJ did get beat of the slower , weaker boxer ive seen more surprising things in boxing

This threads a ****in mess! This a prime example of Calzaghe nuthuggers.

How does Calzaghe beat somebody who in his prime didn't even get touched. Jones is the first fighter in compubox history to avoid every punch thrown at him! The first! since then nobody was able to do it. Not even Calzaghe.
