Honestly, I just think you are a huge JC fan who can't admit that he would ever lose to ANYONE. I understand and respect that.

However, the fact is that Jones was the better fighter. He had a unique athletic ability and reflexes that nobody has ever really seen...When you look at them at their best, Jones was more dominant over his opponents. When you look at the attributes that make a fighter great, Jones dominates the list over JC.

You're letting your fan aspect get in the way of logic. People can bad mouth Jones and say anything out of hatred for him, but I find it hard to believe that someone could be so convinced of a JC victory over him.

Calzaghe is a great fighter NOW. Jones is an ALL-TIME GREAT fighter.
Calzaghe has great skill. Jones had FREAKISH skill.

I actually think Gerald McClellan would have had a better shot to defeat a prime Jones. I'd favor Roy to outbox him, but that's another scenario where Roy has to respect his opponent's power.

Why I like G-Man's chances more than Hopkins and Toney is that he had tremendous and deceptive power at the *end* of his very straight and long punches, and he might have caught the potshotting Jones on his way out of range. Gerald didn't have to load up, either.

I still think his defense was too weak to deal with Jones, but Calzaghe has no such power, and his tendency to get wild when he's hit would further diminish his chances.

I would favor Joe over G-Man, too, for what it's worth. Prime Hopkins and Prime Calzaghe would have been a pick'em.

I am big JC fan ma fav boxer! but im just trying to get the point across why a RJJ win aint so certain ,

I wasnt so convinced of a certain victory but i just wouldnt be surprised if i had seen a joe calzaghe win the fight ,

and ive already explained loads of times why calzaghe can beat him mainly using the same argument but basically i wouldnt be so sure on instantly placing a W next to RJJs name,

Just like you so certainly place A W next to his name n I used certain logic to my arguments i always place facts to support what i say and i seen the way calzaghe keeps pressure on fighters and i dont think RJJ who when at 168 didnt fight anybody with the same pressure and speed as calzaghe

    :patsch :patsch :patsch

With Prime Jones Kessler wouldn't have got close enough to nail Jones with one, that's the difference - in fact he'd probably have been KO'd first time he tried.

Roy would beat Calzaghe, if they were both prime. If they fought now Calzaghe would take it easily.

Jones Jr by embarrisingly easy ownage, KO in the mid-rounds. Even if they fought now I'd still give Jones a chance too, which shows how good the prime version of Jones was.

Time to stop the bullshits. :yep

What has RJJ accomplished and what has JC asccomplished in their primes? Very simple comparisson.

RJJ is unstoppable during his prime. JC??? Check their resumes and get the names of the fighters they have fought and beaten.

It's not even a contest. RJJ wins by a mile.

So if you people are arguing (prime) . . . the best that JC can accomplish is survived a UD loss to RJJ. :D :hey

There's no way to tell what kind of Jones we'd be getting now.

Based on his past four fights, he would lose to Calzaghe, probably by KO.

It depends on what the Jones problem is. Maybe he's over it, but I wouldn't bet on it. Even if (when ) he KOs Tito, that's hardly a real test.

Prime for prime, I would pick Jones by a wide margin UD, about the same margin as he defeated Toney. It's possible he would even stop Calzaghe, if he was sufficiently motivated.
