Calzaghe vs Ruiz - at HW 2008 - for the vacant WBA World heavyweight title.

How do you think Joe would have done?

*Yes I know it's very hard to tell as we haven't seen Joe competitively past LHW*

Calzaghe never had the bottle so this match up would never happen. Ruiz by TKO.

Do the Calzaghe gym really do gameplans? Joe seemed to rely on natural ability and being in shape to win his fights.

joe would have struggled like ****. he would have sacrificed his stamina, speed and agaility, and basically been a fat ****er for the fight. joe had a good chin at smw, and okayish at lhw, out of his natural weight class, and this is no slight on joe, or his ability etc, he would struggle. simple as that.

i think the extra weight would slow calzaghe down and he wouldnt be able to get those fast punches off quick enough, leaving him open at times. i know ruiz isnt the quickest of fighters but his pressure style could have calzaghe in trouble at time and i reckon itd be close...

    Calzaghe UD Ruiz

Calzaghe would be fast and strong at 190lbs, and could easily outpoint a mediocre heavyweight like Ruiz.

Calzaghes a much better fighter than Ruiz....... Everything Calzaghe does is better than Ruiz, Ruiz wouldn't land no big punches and would get his head boxed off....

Size ain't an issue when your a great fighter
