Calzaghe vs. Tarver...who wins and how?

A fit and well-prepared Tarver is too big and too strong for Calzaghe. Imho. I think Tarver's fight with Hopkins was a fluke, due to the drastic weight-loss.

 

DO i have to understand that Tarver clearly wins in UK but loses or barely wins in uSA? :huh

If they fought now Calzaghe forces a stoppage late. AT is looking even older than Hopkins.

In there primes I'd favour Calzaghe to get inside Tarvers reach and out hustle and out work him. Would be dangerous however as Tarver is a little underated on this board and posseses decent power and skill.

Calzaghe isn't a natural 175 pounder. Don't forget, he just barely squeaked by Hopkins by a c**t hair. But Tarver is looking haggard these days, so I'll go with the guy who always seems able to win, Calzaghe UD.

I think Tarver's reach and underrated skill would beat Calzaghe. Calzaghe is a poor man's RJJ and Tarver beat Jones twice. I'd pick Tarver to win a UD...unless the fight took place in Wales, than I think Slappy would get a gift decision.

 

Up to a couple of years ago, I'd say Tarver TKO. I think Tarver might be a little too old these days to catch Calzaghe though. I think his long southpaw style would give Calzaghe major problems.

 

jc wins a very easy decision over another 40 year old and loses even more respect for not fighting pavlik in his final ever contest providing he looks impressive against hopkins

 

other than rjj tarver only ko's bums. fact. jc doesnt hurt him but lands a million slaps and wins a wide ud.
