its because as with your pal Joe, they get forgotten in history as they get superceded when they dont do much memorable.

I'm just reacting to a statement that you made.

You say you cannot remember them....I say you cannot because you are making up shyte as usual.

    46-0.....oohhh it must burn.

I respect the above. But we all know about statistics.

Statistically, Sven Ottke is one of the greatest SMW's of all time.

We know how things can appear on paper. But we also need to apply context.

Yes, Bernard won more official titles etc. Again, that's fair enough. But in my honest opinion, knocking out George Groves was better and more noteworthy than beating Shuminov and Cloud. And destroying Bute had to be on a par with Bernard's win over Kelly, especially as it was at 170 pounds.

We can agree to disagree though, it's all good.

    Enjoy your weekend.

After Ward, Frankie Liles is probably the most accomplished American Super Middleweight. Perhaps you were thinking of him.

I'm enjoying the back and forth debate between you guys.

    It's good fun.

I guess you can spin things from different angles. But in my honest opinion, Andre's win over Kovalev was better than Joe's win over Bernard. And Joe having beaten Bernard years before Kovalev did doesn't factor into it at all.

Joe beat a 43 year old version of Bernard who had to resort to horrible tactics in order to gain a rest as he could no longer fight at a fast pace. He also wasn't a puncher and he always had issues with guys who could move. It was an intriguing fight, but a very ugly one, where Joe concentrated more on volume rather than accuracy. Joe threw a lot more shots, but the majority of them were ineffective. Bernard landed the cleaner shots, even though they were few and far between. It became a contest of 'quality vs quantity'

Andre fought a peak version of Kovalev who was a monster puncher and who was a huge threat. It was a much more dangerous fight. People like to whine about the last low blow, but that was the straw that broke the camels back for Tony Weeks. Andre systematically broke him apart both physically and mentally. I recently watched the fight back again. And Kovalev was looking at Weeks in vain, even when he was been hit with shots which were 100% clean. And after that right hand in the last round, he had nothing to left give.

When rating a win, you have to analyse a lot of factors.

I believe that breaking down a prime LHW trumps scraping buy a 43 year old one on workrate.

Kovalev lost the will to live in the rematch with Ward..I honestly think his prep and team lost him that fight, he didn't give a ****

Not really, they were to far down from the top to pick all things considering, that's why the two names mentioned shocked everyone...
