So Calzaghe is coming back this fall against....Hopkins?

I'd prefer Andre Ward, the very best at 168 right now.

    Who would win? :think

Ward would beat Calzaghe now pretty easily. A schooling session with no knockdowns

Even now, Ward doesn't have the punching power to put Calzaghe away. He'd be pressed the entire fight and if Calzaghe is the same guy who fought Roy Jones Jr or even 85% of him, I think he'd deal with Ward in a 116-112 style victory.

Calzaghe is an elite, while Ward is merely good.

Ward will be elite. and im sure his resume when he retires will be more impressive than Calzaghes.

He'll have multiple losses, no where near as many title fights and will not beat the same amount of undefeated fighters that Calzaghe did.

When Ward retires, he'll be seen as another classy fighter one to two weight fighter, similar to Virgil Hill. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ward will have fought better competition, i would say 1 or even zero losses and overall will be respected way more than Calzaghe. Sorry the resume of lacy, kessler, an old b hop and an old jones do much for me

Kessler is their only common opponent that I know of, if that can be any indicator, which I'm sure is unacceptable to Calzaghe fans (save the excuses for Kessler against Ward, and don't even ****ing mention the phantom headbutts). Hypothetically, if they were to meet currently, Ward has been training and busting his ass to perfect his game since meeting Kessler while Calzaghe has been railing up lines of a certain something since meeting Kessler. Do I really need to say what would happen?

Unless it's a robbery decision, go look at Sweet Pea out class De La Hoya after being old, on coke and not training.

Ward would get beaten, if Calzaghe came back, had one warm up fight and faced him, the fight would play like this.

Ward wouldn't be able to handle the footspeed of Calzaghe, he wouldn't get his punches off first, the angles Calzaghe punches from would be completely new to him and that shakey chin of his would get tested.

Calzaghe would take Ward's best shots. If Ward wants to play the headbutt game again, Calzaghe's no stranger to that - he dealt with Bika doing all that ****.

Stamina wise, Calzaghe won't have lost anything.

Ward best hope if the fight happens that Calzaghe is 70% of what he was against RJJ, cause if not, he's going to get a beating, not just a loss.

Calzaghe a few years ago would UD Ward easily

Now Calzaghe probably messed his body up with drugs

But given that Ward is still improving, he has the ability to surpass Calzaghe's shitty resume

This is all completely inaccurate and misinformed, as well as insulting. I can tell you know very little about Andre Ward. Euro biases are thick and stubborn so it would be unwise of me to spend too much time trying to convince any of them (or like-minded fans) of reality.

I go with Joe based on experience but Ward would not be a walk in the park !

If Calzaghe was going to warm up with a couple of B-level guys before facing the Super Six winner, he'd be back to his old self and end up surpassing Rocky's mythical unbeaten streak in the process. He would beat Ward and make the Son of God see who is God in the ring.

Ward is a good, not great fighter. I'll say it again. It's not rocket science to beat Ward, he gave Kessler issues solely because Kessler forgot what bought him to town.

Kessler showed against Froch how limited he is at the moment in comparison to the Kessler that dominated Andrade, Mundine and a fair few others before being seen as "A MUCH BETTER RESUME THAN CALZAGHE RECENTLY AND WILL EASILY BEAT HIM" by people like you who have limited clue about style in fights.

Calzaghe would literally have to be shot to ****, worse than Roy Jones Jr, to lose to Ward. **** I'd almost put money on Ward losing to Roy Jones Jr.
