I am curious, what do consider huge KO power? When someone says huge KO power I think G-Man, Jackson, Prime Jones, do you really consider Calzaghe to be at that level in KO power? Also, who do you think is the best fighter that Joe put down for over 10? I am talking KO not a TKO.
Can someone post a link to the Andre Ward steriods story, or point me in the direction of where this would come from?
I asked the same question and opened a thread on this. If you go on my profile and see all threads started you will find it. As the story seems to go, is that Ward was using some product by the guy responsible for Balco as I remember, but I could be wrong, id have to look again myself
Prime for prime BHOP KO's Calslappy in rd 1. If there is a comeback, BHOP KO's Calcokie in the 1st rd. If Calzaghe fought Ward today, he'd lose by TKO, rd 6
I googled it and found this story but in no way does it seem inappropriate and it's obviously in the public eye as nothing is "secretive" about it. Personally I would shy away from Victor Conte' but by all accounts he is essentially a genius in terms of health and fitness suppliments. <Insert Steriod Joke Here> Seriously though, he does appear to be the best at what he does. Either way this has nothing to do with steriods or the use of PED's other than the loose association between Balco and Ward.
Who gives a ****, the point is fighters that go on to be great can stumble early in their careers. Getting dropped happens sometimes, and does not automatically mean you are a fraud. Especially since he dominated one of the best wins on Calzaghe's entire resume.
A version of Kessler that everyone has since said "What the ****? He looks shot" in comparison. Ward did very well, I give him all the credit in the world for that win because he was the underdog coming through but anyone trying to put him on a level with Calzaghe - wait 5 years and see where he ends up. Ward will lose one, maybe two fights in the next two years. I also have no doubt if you put Ward through the career of fighters Calzaghe has faced, he'd not be 46-0.
I am not putting him on a level with Calzaghe, but he did beat the Super 6 favorite, and has a good chance to win it, I would hardly call him an "American Hype Job"
Bernard was 95-4 as an Amateur and he never lost another fight after his first until Roy Jones. Losing early or getting knocked down early in your career does not automatically make you a hype job.
**** this stupid shot Sweet Pea against DLH bull****. At the old age of 33? And he did train for that fight. He saw it as his last hurrah and worked ****ing hard. While not a prime Whitaker, he was still 90% as good. That's almost like saying Mayweather was shot against Mosley.
You are calling someone a hype job and want to take away their best win? And you are giving Calzaghe credit for Ward beating Kessler?atsch You also seem to be taking something away from Calzaghe by saying it is not a big deal to execute a blue print he layed down.
Now THIS is a fight I'd pay to see. Calzaghe vs. Ward is a genuine ****ing match. I'd imagine Calzaghe can still get in there and Ward is a future number one pound for pounder. Great match if it happens.
