Dawson would not be an ez fight for JC. And even though Kessler was a formitable foe, he was also a very one-dimensional fighter. All Joe had to watch out for was the right hand of Kessler. Thats why Pavlik would KO JC. KP has dynamite in both fists.
If Winky gets this fight I hope he takes it seriously and comes in the best shape of his life. He really ****ed up his chances against Hopkins. He should have came in there in great shape. The primary thing he had over Hopkins was activity and he came into that fight out of shape and sluggish. He should have tried to use a highwork rate to win rounds. Against Calzaghe, a fighter who is both larger than Winky and has a much higher workrate than Hopkins and even Winky, he better ****ing come in the best shape of his life if he expects to win. I think it is theoretically possible, and Id like to see him do it because Winky is one of my favorite fighters, but based on his Hopkins fight I dont see him winning unless by some miracle he gets his **** together.
Keep in mind, Hopkins beat Winky by roughing him up and forcing Winky to fight his fight. Calzaghe is not as resourceful as Hopkins. :smoke
Somehow, I'm not getting all sweaty and sticky over the prospect of Calzaghe -Wright. The thought of Hopkins in the mix isn't getting me warm and fuzzy either. Since Joe's at his peak, the most interesting fights are with younger guys, like Dawson, or Pavlick. But I guess the mainstream ticket and ppv buyers want the potential slapathon that Calzaghe -Wright would be.

It was a farce when Hopkins fought Winky and it will be equally (if not more so) offensive if Joe fights him. If Joe's next two fights are against these guys then you may as well consider Joe to all intents and purposes retired because he wont be taking part in real and relevent matches. You could consider his 'real' career to have ended after the brilliant win against Kessler. Of course he could end up against proper fighters like Dawson and Woods instead of two old fossils. We can always hope.
