http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/7126314.stm Winky's name mentioned a few times in this article but nothing is official. it sounds intrigueing but Calzaghe can do better. he should try to fight Chad Dawson instead.
how does a 2 pound difference make a fight go from ****ing rediculous to rediculous? Also, Hopkins is a career middleweight, Calzaghe is a career super middleweight.
Because one fight was at light heavy, and one will be at super middle. That's a weight class in difference. To get to super middle, Wright goes up ONE weight class from his current weight, and TWO from his best. To get to light heavy, he had to go up TWO weight classes from his current weight, and THREE from his best. Yes, it was 170. Yes, it's only 2 pounds. But if it's only 2 pounds, why didn't they fight at super middle then? Irrelevant. Hopkins is now a light heavyweight. He holds the light heavyweight Ring belt, and is proclaimed by those that like that belt, to be THE MAN at light heavy. Doesn't matter what weight you WERE, it's what weight you ARE. Hopkins also started his career at light heavy. He's been a light heavy that can get to middle his whole career really. If you want to boast you have a light heavyweight belt, then you're a light heavy. If Calzaghe moves up to light heavy, then in my eyes, that's what he is now.
Why would Calzaghe be interested in fighting Dawson? He doesn't have many fights to go therefore will go for the bigger payday, i.e. Hopkins.
yeah i cant argue with that if it's all about the money. but if it's about fighting the best there is, then he should look somewhere else instead of Winky at 168.
I've seen 5 of his fights, lots of bits and pieces of others and have read numerous articles for and against him. :bart I could do more but I just don't see anything that could make me change my opinion on his record.
go take a nice long walk off a very short pier. your boy bute has already said that he isn't interested in a fight with joe because he is not ready for it.
