Regardless... Kessler needs to fix up, he could be involved in some good fights in the states if the fights were actually made.

I actually think Kessler fails. He's good but I think the likes of Dawson, Hopkins and co all have too much for him.

    He's a super middleweight.

That means he would want to be fighting Froch/Taylor or Bute.

Not exactly marque names are they? Thus the selection of better fighters from the adjacent division. :good

Taylor is in the States, and if he won he'd have a belt and some credibility at super middle too. If Froch wins...he beat Taylor.

Bute not so much, but its still one step on the way to proving he is the best 168lb'er.

I really don't see the fuss about Dawson to be honest!

Dawson is good, but he can't sell hotdogs to the Americans. The kid has no attention.

Certainly not a marquee name or somebody you would move up for.

Boxing's popularity has gone down remarkably in the US - I think these days you have to have something.....

Olympic medals, brash persona or exciting KO laden style.... pretty much as it is here

He didn't mean he wanted to be the main promoter. This has nothing to do with Joe's legacy, that's done and dusted already. Unlike the haters who are still bitching and jibbering on, Joe is done with the past and has moved on from his fighting career.

The bottom line is that he rates Kessler highly, thinks he is gonna achieve big things in the sport and wants to be part of his success.
