Those are very strong arguments right there.

    I'm convinced.

    Those are fair points.

Calzaghe doesn't "need" Dawson in the sense that without him he will not be recognized as a great fighter. But I've said it before, if Calzaghe takes this kind of fight (vs a good, skilled young champion like Dawson, who could give him trouble style-wise), which in the minds of most people is the greater risk, he will shut up many people that critisize him. Calzaghe would still be the favourite in that fight and I (as I believe many others too) will give him mad respect for even taking that fight. Imagine if he won it (which is very possible).

No, Joe is still a great fighter even if he retired right now. But I don't see why not further cementing his legacy, as he has clearly shown in his last fights that he still has it, no doubt.

Calzaghe needs Dawson because he hasnt fought a top 10 p4p fighter in his prime...? What a dumbarse thing to say. One because Bernard Hopkins is in the top 10 p4p and in most peoples top 5 and 2 because Dawson simply isnt in the top 10 p4p at all...

Joe doesnt NEED Dawson, in fact outside of ESB nobody knows who the **** he is, Joe prob doesnt even know who he is.

Calzaghes Cv and legacy is comfortably secure and he'll definately get in the Hall of Fame.

A Dawson fight, would just be even more lovely icing on already iced cake.

Dawson is in the top 15/20 right now, and only going upwards.

    That is a P4P talent.

HHmm how many people seem to jump in out of the top 20 p4p though, lets keep it a more exclusive top 10 argument... Dawson doesnt get in im afraid.

I agree he's not top 10 yet, very close though.

..well thats easy to say, I could reply Calzaghe is 5 yrs past his prime. Hopkins was a true top 10 p4per, 175 champ coming off great wins and outclassing another universal top 10 p4per in Pavlik in the fight after losing to Joe, therefore an outstanding victory for Calzaghe. A much better win than for his legacy than unknown Chad Dawson.

thats why they were say happy when hopkins beat pavlik.. took him off the hook for that fight cuz calzaghe was definitely ducking pavlik... but just cuz hopkins beat pavlik does not mean calzaghe would.. in fact i think calzaghe is more of a sitting duck for pavlik because everyone knows hopkins isnt easy for anyone to hit

The Hopkins victory WAS a great one for Joe.

Dawson, on the other hand, is in no way unknown, as you repeatedly claim in your posts. I really don't understand what is your point degrading a skilled, young champion.
