Let's be real for a second, jc. Hopkins clearly came off as the superior fighter, and beat Calzaghe according to many whilst throwing almost no punches. It was a pathetic performance by Joe. The fight speaks for itself. The Hopkins fight is an indictment on Calzaghe as a talent. Hopkins exposed Calzaghe's crudeness and true lack of ability. Now, a soon to be 44 year old Hopkins wants a rematch and Calzaghe seems intent on ducking that challenge as well. This isn't a matter of opinion. This is what any objective fan will see and understand when they watch the fights, and do the math.
funny how u claim calzaghe who hasnt lost any stamina, speed, or anything is out his prime then u act like hopkins is in his prime.... u guys are real silly.. calzaghe is not out of his prime... when u start losing speed, stamina, no longer fight the same way anymore thats when u are out ur prime... hopkins has clearly lost stamina.. he makes up for it by being more crafty which is someone he couldnt do with calzaghe who does all that slap boxing to make it appear he is hitting u more then he actually is... pavlik was so one dimensional that pavlik didnt need stamina or prime legs just good ole fashioned boxing skill... and please stop making this guy look like he can retire without fighting anyone.. he is a disgrace to boxing ....
its almost starting to seem to me that calzaghe is intent on not fighting and just taking the easy way out... because in no way is he gonna get credit from me for the roy jones fight... that was pathetic... thats like vitali klitschko making lennox lewis come out of retirement then beating him.. an overweight hasnt boxed in years lennox... so for these idiots to be saying he should retire on top he didnt even fight the best fighters at 175.. he did his numbers at 168 with mikkel kessler who seems decent but not great... and lacy who is clearly a one dimensional slugger... do u deserver to go into the hall of fame with that kind of legacy... if u do then chad dawson might has well retire now because he has beaten tarver and glen johnson the best in that division... so he can retire on top now
Hopkins has heavy hands at 175. That had alot to do with his ability to rattle and disarm Pavlik - not to mention Hopkins' defense, which is unparalleled. Calzaghe... Not so much. He would have to engage in much more of a give and take battle with Pavlik. You make good points.. Only complete ****ing morons would try and compare Pavlik, Lacy, and Kessler, or the wins of other fighters in triangle theory scenarios.. And they do.
Absolute bollocks, the man was speaking the truth. Calslappys resume until he fought Lacy was utter ****, 8 years or so of defending a meaningless belt against meaningless opponents. He beat Lacy who has turned out to be extremely limited, Kessler who still isn't proven, Hopkins who he in all reality lost to and Jones who hadn't looked good for 5 years. That's it, that's Calslappys resume in a nutshell. Hardly impressive if you ask me but hey you come back and proclaim his greatness because he beat Pudwill, McIntyre and Woodhall, I could do with a laugh.
Nah, heavy hands, timing, and footwork are what won Hopkins the fight. The handspeed wasn't nearly as much of a factor, but it was a complimentary aspect and gave a flashier appearance. This "defend against what" **** sounds like an attempt to degrade all the subtle brilliance demonstrated by Hopkins. Why make excuses and try to give other reasons? What's the agenda?
