Jeff, you amounted to absolutely nothing in boxing.

That irks you, we all know that.

You have regrets cos you didn't meet your expectations.

That said you're also no expert, and always seek gratification from 'senior' or similar minded posters on here.

This thread has been done time and time again.

Usually with you at the forefront spouting out negativity.

Heck you seem to think Anthony Farnell was a better boxer than most......

Just say you don't particularly like Calzaghe and have it done.

This site is a cyclical circus of childish arguing.

There's dignity in silence every now and again.

The term 'broken record' suits this website perfectly.

Grown men acting like kids playing Top Trumps.

And I do like Calzaghe I think as a bloke both him and his dad come across as very nice chaps.... just not when they're talking bout boxing. MrPlow i'm starting to think your a member of the Calzaghe camp... I don't buy the little bloke in an office story. And with regards to achieving nothing in boxing which causes my bitter hatred of Calzaghe- I achieved more then 99% of people who try and enjoyed it so i'm certainly not bitter, twisted or evil.

I'd have loved to have done more don't get me wrong but such is life. I'm sure you have things you'd have liked to have done better too.

Calzaghe showed in his last few years what he could have done for many years. Sure, along the way he may have picked up a loss but he may have avenged it, had a trilogy etc

I never mentioned my views on Joe in that post. I happen to rank him above Eubank and Benn which I'm pretty sure you don't, but below Hamed and Lewis in the modern British rankings.

He certainly stirs up a lot of wound up bitterness in you for a guy who you don't miss. That's what I would say.

And I also said you acheived nothing, but not that you couldn't have.

Is it ironic that there have been many WBO champions with long runs that have fought nobodies? Artur Grigorian, Acelino Freitas (somewhat) Zsolt Erdei to name a few.

If my memory serves me correctly Brian Nielsen was 62-1 when he fought Tyson. Nice stats. But apart from being a supremely fat heavyweight he's record was absolute garbage. He was very popular in Denmark though... (dont ask me why)

If you want a great record for an unbeaten and retired fighter look no further than Ricardo Lopez. He had over 50 fights since the early 80's. That man was a stud all 4 foot of him. Not this pish 46-0 BS from Joe. The only persons Joe is kidding is the stupid fans that cling to his record and himself.

Wow thats almost a compliment from you MrPlow lol.... Nope it must just come across that way on here. I was with Gaz S last week and funnily enough we discussed Calzaghe a little and he'll tell you i'm not the bitter twisted type. Perhaps its because what I write is fairly argumentative but i'm not at all bothered to a point that he annoys me. I'll never convince anyone for or against but its just asserting my opinion. I don't think he'd have beaten Eubank or Benn but i'm probably in the minority.

Fans of drug cheats are more abhorrent than those that would support a post war flagship fighter from these shores.

That's true stupidity in my book.

Just my opinion though, obviously, but I'm not gonna change it 'cos Kool And The Gang of experts tell me otherwise.

I thought it was odd to call a Calzaghe fan stupid knowing you avidly support a drug cheat.

All the talent in the world can't make me like a cheat. Just my view, call it bollocks if you like, they are my views.

Joe slapped with his punches and fought too many average guys but he did it fairly.

Unless people are gratuitously overrating Calzaghe I don't see anything stupid in being a fan of his?

And im not even prepared to get into a debate on semantics of Balco and Shanes testimony of which NO COURT or judicial system has found him guilty.

Dawson couldnt sell Tennants to Scotsman.

The bottom line is why should he fight Dawson (who hadnt really done that much) for much less then Roy Jones Junior.

Very good post...............Naz was a great fighter.......was the main man in that division and beat his opponents in a convincing way. As much as i think winning on points is good......it still means you could not put away your man easily.......had to get someone to tell you had won.

Hence why fighters who win by stoppage......are more valued.

smoke, mirros and revisionist history with joe calzaghe.

I had Calzaghe winning the Hopkins fight by one round and i always thought that Hopkins undestimated Joe.......if a rematch had occured a reversal i see. Or if it was several years earlier.
