I don`t care for Germans and Americans. I just write what is real. You saying that Marciano dident defend never world title ! Marciano knock out Joe Louis. If you read better boxing history you will learn that Marciano did`nt retired but he was aeroplane accident clash and he died like world champion and like one of the best fighter ever.

I think you should study more boxing history. Marciano was already retired when he died in air plane accident

Larry Holmes would have equaled and then broken it at Heavyweight had he RIGHTFULLY been awarded those two bull**** decisions to Spinks. He always said he would have retired after that fight.

I still consider Larry Holmes 49-0 in modern era of HW boxing, that's one of the reasons why he's my, admittedly controversial, choice for greatest HW of all time.

I would like to see Calzaghe at least tie Marciano's record.

His next 4 fights would be:

    Jones
    Pavlik
    Wright
    Dawson/Tarver

You can argue that some of these guys are past their bests, but so are most of Marciano's big named opponents.

Marciano never set any records. 49-0 had already been accomplished before Marciano and has been accomplish after. The date of retirement doesn't mean ****.

That would be a good way to go out but I would exchange Winky Wright for a Lucian Bute, Erdei or even Arthur Abraham...
