Calzaghe will not face Pavlik

I agree.... Winky is Pavlik's worst match up at middle weight.

A.A. or Alligator Arms is no match stylistically for Pavlik. Pavlik could box circles around him....and pentrate his turtle defense.....pop pop bang all day long...:bbb

 

No one says he's slow AFTER they fight him. They say things like, "I couldn't see the punches coming," and "He's a lot faster than we thought."

On the accusation of no defense, there's one simple question I'd like to ask. How come we have never seen Kelly with his face all messed up? After the 2nd Taylor fight his forehead was knotted up. Other than that a bloody nose is the worst we've seen.

 

Pavlik/Abraham is a fight that will show the difference between a very good european level champion, and a world class fighter quite clearly.

Strangely, Hopkins was a GREAT WIN for Calzaghe and Pavlik gets criticized for fighting 'Joe's leftovers'. Cal huggers are getting more and more pathetic.:good

 

Er, no. His haters ****ing ripped him to pieces for fighting an old man when he fought Hopkins. And the same ****ing haters are giving (the even younger) Pavlik all the props in the world for fighting...Hopkins. Get it right.

 

Strangely the Hopkins fight meant nothing for Calzaghe than a paycheck, which is why it was made.

This was already establish prior to them meeting.

 

I guess it is the posts you decide to read. And I had it right. Joe's huggers are saying things like Hopkins was a great win AND Kelly is fighting "Joe's leftovers". So which is it for you? Is Hopkins a valid opponent for BOTH or not? :huh I think not personally. But, it will be a good gauge since Joe isn't fighting Pavlik.

 

No one should be rediculed for fighting Hopkins, nor should Pavlik. Though Hopkins is a venerable boxer, he is still a very smart and a handful for a bunch of top fighters.

 

Joe had his greatest ever victory just over 9 months ago, Roy Jones was getting ktfo of 4 years ago. Hopkins, and Lennox Lewis were at there best when they were around Joe's age - Tyson was gone in his early twenties; Boxers age differently.

 

To be fair, a lot of that came from the fact that Joe was fighting when Bernard was at his best but it took him till Bernard was 43 to pair up with him; Pavlik has taken a Hopkins fight at the first real opportunity.

 

Well, let me put it like this...if Joe is going to be criticised for fighting old men when in reality they are not that many years his senior...those who choose to slag him off for that should realise it is even more shameful for Pavlik who is younger still. But these people seem to ignore the age thing when it comes round to their guy/when it isnt the guy they love to hate. Convenient.
