He says, I realize the end is near. I'm not going to be an Evander Holyfield and fight at 44, getting my head punched in” "I'm giving myself 1 more fight then I'll let it go. There'll be no comebacks."
Calzaghe also admitted he is starting to feel his age. says,“I realize I'm getting to that point in my career where you're not going to improve and you slowly decline, that's nature,".

Maybe. but he did say he wants two more fights. After Hopkins he will probably face the winner of Woods-Tarver or the winner of Pavlik-Taylor.

If true, his record will be seriously lacking to compare to the greats.

He looked great against Kessler like he's still on top I think if he can do that to Hopkins he can reach 50 fights easy.

But either way he cant get those years back. I don't think there are enough big fights at this age to stop anyone from saying "what if" to is early years. He has stepped it up though.

    He should beat:

    1. Hopkins
    2. Jones
    3. A bum
    4. A bum
    5. A bum

And his record would be 50-0.

Yes I agree. Talent wise he is a great but the resume is the one that goes on record and that future people will look on unfortunately.

    But Health > Greatness.

I guess he did waste a lot of years and more importantly his "prime" years. Someone with that talent though, you'd expect a lot more from them. In comparision, Hopkins has had all of his biggest fights on the plus side of 36 yrs of age.

Alot of fighters dont get thjeir best wins til the end of the their career, Hopkins is a prime example as is Marvin Hagler.
