I know mate. I'm one of the ones who'd always look for your opinion on a fight/fighters. Easily one of the best posters on here:good

I genuinely want to know what you'd prefer for Hopkins if the fight with JC dosen't come off. To retire or fight on?

The hardest opponent for Calzaghe in 160 to 175 is Kessler, I can't see another qualified opponent !!
    Lets have a remacth :yep

Most people don't underrate him or overrate him, they know what he is, just a solid LHW titlist.

Does anyone actually think that a shot Hopkins is any better at this point in time, most experts don't.

I think a "shot" Hopkins is not only better than Woods, but better than Calzaghe. Way to quote most experts by the way, thats a nice vague statement to make to try and prove your point isn't it?

Little to get excited about here

At least Woods isn't AS bad as the normal selection of fighters Calzaghe goes after, especially after he's had what he considers a "big" fight.

Foolish, a shot Hopkins scrapes by a blown up Winky Wright and he's better than Calzaghe. The Winky fight was a perfect, non-threatening test to see where Hopkins currently stood for us fans, and it showed how declined he really is.

You think Calzaghe would have any problems at all with Wright? Or better yet, would any top 5 LHW fighter, which includes Woods, Johnson and Erdei, have any trouble with Winky Wright at LHW?

    No. Try again.

You can care to look at the Wright fight anyway you want, but Hopkins beat him, more than barely scraped by, and was barely non-threatening. I think Wright could at least give other LHW's as much trouble as he gave Hopkins. And yes, Hopkins is better than Calzaghe.

When it comes to Calzaghe, I've found that on here, people seem to keep telling themselves things (over and over AND over again); I'm almost positive they now truly believe it.

So, on that note, who here would tip Woods? Oh, that's right. NO ONE. What an interesting fight!!!

Source...Clinton Woods was on BBC Look North last night opening a Sheffield Olympic Gym with Junior Witter and Frankie Gavin where British Boxers will train for 2008. He said that his next fight will be against Joe Calzaghe and everyone should hear it confirmed late next week.

I think Joe Calzaghe is buying time and waiting for Hopkins to get even older.

Calzaghe isn't ducking Hopkins. If anything, it's the other way around (and this is coming from a huge Hopkins fan).

Calzaghe would beat Hopkins, Woods, Erdei, Dawson - basically anybody from 160-175.

I wish he could get all 4 of those guys also, but then even with an extremely refined resume like the one he'd end up with having those 4 you list, someone would still criticise him for 'not fighting the best' and bring up Hopkins wins over Trinidad and DLH.:rofl
