I've watched this fight many times and am convinced Hopkins would have got stopped for the first time if he didn't have Cortez bending the rules for him.

hard to dispute, but some idiots will. but this guy is probably dumber than bailey and headbanger. to say calzaghe beat hopkins is one thing. to say he would've stopped him? i guess this guy thinks that because almost all of calzaghe's stoppages came against people who were still standing and not even hurt.

You having a laugh,Calzaghe hasn`t stopped any fighter since Jeff Lacy.Calzaghe,a great speed combo fighter yes but never had real power. He got put down by Hopkins and also lost imo,but only just.

there was a real chance of it. hopkins was gassing. it could have ended in 140 unanswered slaps if cortez had tried to ref fairly. fair play to bernard though, he did what he had to do to see the final bell.

one things for sure, hopkins wasn't interested in fighting toe to toe with a feather fisted fighter. all calzaghe does is slap, so why was bernard so scared? why did he want to hold, headbutt, feign injury, and do everything in his power to make it a scrappy fight?

why wasn't bernard doing press ups inbetween round or shotwboating in the last round like he was v pavlik?

Yeah sorry he didn`t stop Lacy,i wasn`t accurate with that but my point was Calzaghe`s lack of power.
