I never rely on bookmakers odds to judge what may or may not happen in a fight - often times they are wrong.

There is simply no way anyone can say what would have happened had Calzaghe fought Hopkins and RJJ in their primes.

I disagree with your comment about Calzaghe performing poorly vs Hopkins and RJJ. Hopkins was an ugly fight, because Hopkins is the ultimate spoiler. The RJJ fight was a masterclass by Calzaghe. I assume you're referring to the 2 first round KD's in making your judgement?

I can't understand why some poster are so stupid, here's why... If joe would've fought hopkins or jones 10 years ago, obviously joe would've been younger and in his prime as well, therefore things would've looked the same results as last night,or better......calzaghe just beat back to back probably the 2 best middleweights of the last 20 years, yet he still not given credit, hopkins just came off a shot out against pavlik, and the world was very impressed of jones performance against tito, now they both lost to calzaghe and they are shot.:-( :huh :huh :huh :huh

Interesting to note that the 'slappy' comments have subsided somewhat since yesterday's fight :yep

Just like the claims that Calzaghe was ducking Pavlik dried up after Hopkins demolished him :yep

Now they're all claiming RJJ is shot.

not all were impressed with roy beating the vargas-sized tito, as I stated on numerous threads before the fight.

the fight pretty much turned out as I expected it to. roy had a punchers chance, as you don't lose that. problem was, he really couldn't hurt joe save the forearm knockdown in rd 1. Now someone please tell me how roy would have hurt joe ten years ago....:rofl:rofl

Can you tell me then, if Calzaghe only slaps, why didn't Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, Jones, and his 42 other opponents just walk through his 'slaps' and beat the **** out of him? :deal

That's unfair. Most people commented that beating Roy of Bernard means little BEFORE the fights took place. I will admit that Bernards win does reflect for Calzaghe but then again styles make fights. My positive opinion of Calzaghe is based in his win over Kessler. His best fight imo.
