Calzaghe would have KO'd Hopkins in 13, 14 or 15

Regardless of his power, he would have KO'd Hopkins since Hopkins was completely gassed after the 12th.

Hopkins was going to the wrong corner and faking reasons for breaks as early as the 10th. No way he had the gas to make it until the end of 15.

Get it. As Emmauel Steward indicated an easy fight to score. He had it 8 rounds to 4 for Calzaghe.

Also, remember after the fight, experts like Freddie Roach were calling for Hopkins retirement since he looked so bad at the end of the match.

if hopkins wasn't allowed to take his 5 minute unofficial breaks, calzaghe could have overwhelmed him and the ref might have had to step in even before 12 rounds were up, let alone after 15 rounds. hopkins was completly exhausted towards the end of the fight.

So you're not saying he would have KO'd him, but that Hopkins would have gotten so tired in another 3 rounds that he would have collapsed?

i've never said anything about a ko, but a tko was very possible. he may have been too tired to defend himself properly, and the ref possibly would have to step in. calzaghe's workrate is his biggest asset, look what hopkins did to pavlik in his next fight when he could dictate the pace.

Sorry I was replying to the thread starter.

Ya i've always said Hopkins lost that fight because at his age he just cannot handle somebody like Calzaghe who will force him to work that hard.

    Joke thread.

I do think Joe would have won a clearer decision though.
