dawson fight would be a great fight but he is not outboxing joe cal. the first few round it would be even with dawsons speed showing but he takes to much time off in a round where JC works for the full 3min. after 4 or 5 rounds JC will work out the dawson offence and start picking him off as we all know Chad's defence is crap with perfect hooks to the body and keeping him at range with the better jab.
JC would take this fight down the stretch 7-5 or 8-4

Dawson may be fast and have power but JC has the boxing brain and is not slow himself and i feel JC has the better footwork and has a better jab even though chad would have the reach advantage

The point was made because he said that Dawson was "not old" and that was his basis for him winning.
Well Dawson has been fighting old men too, and guys who are far more shot than Hopkins. How is fighting Hopkins a bad choice by Calazaghe, when JC is 37 himself and Hopkins has since gone on to thrash Pavlik; but Dawson fighting washed up Tarver is fine?

Dawson is quick, he is also easier to back up than Kessler and easier to hurt. The point being that just because he is young does not mean he stands in the middle and dominates.

And if 37 year old past his best Calzaghe fought and beat Dawson, the usual lot would be saying Dawson was green, ill or never that good anyway and they would find someone else that would "destroy" Calzaghe if he wasn't going to duck them like a big coward.

It is very tiresome, and I'm not even a Calzaghe fan. Prime RJJ beats any version of Calzaghe.

I really don't know why everyone considers Dawson "the man". In my eyes, Glen Johnson is the man and Calzaghe-Johnson would be a lot more entertaining and probably fight of the year candidate. In addition, Johnson has the heart and the most chance to beat Calzaghe although I believe the way Joe fought Kessler would be sufficient agaisnt Johnson too.

Dawson... give a rematch to the old gentleman, Glen Johnson.

 

No he isn't. He is a different fighter, faster and a little slicker when on the front foot, but he is not as good on the backfoot, does not deal with pressure as well, has a worse chin and is a little wider when throwing combinations.

How does that put him in another class bracket? He has not even fought better comp.
