Well Dawson isn't going to fight Calzaghe anyway, so it doesn't really matter. As for the topic, Calzaghe kind of wings his punches, it looks amateurish. That was how Hopkins was able to knock down Calzaghe in the first round, Hopkins threw a straight right hand down the middle when Calzaghe was ready to throw those slap punches again. If it was a Hopkins in his prime, he probably would of knocked down Calzaghe a lot more.
jones at this point in time is shot, i would ****ing criticize calzaghe if he takes this fight. One old man is enough..the only people that would give him credit would be his die hard fans.
Jones has nothing against JC.... and i really dont want to see this fight, unless its JC's retirement fight for the $$$ and the name. Id like to see him fight Dawson obviously... then RJJ then retire. Hes fading hard... his punches didnt even look good compared to the kessler fight to me to be honest.
Another meaningless fight. Why doesn't he just slap Eubank, Benn, have a catch weight with Toney and dig up any other ex-168 lbs champions that are active enough to pull on some gloves. Yawn. Want legacy? Fight the Dawson Tarver winner- either's beatable, no one will accuse him of beating up an old man and unlike what Warren said of Joe, he actually WILL be undisputed Light Heavy champ, THEN you can retire with legacy!
What the hell. Let Joe C. get this fight out of the way and make a little money. Jones is not shot. He still has some fight in him. He will still lose in my book, though.
Yes RJJ a few years back even Had a great chance of defeating JC. I agree with jc there are more meaningful fights out there. name a few?
Calzaghe is in the process of building on his legacy by beating legends and getting a big payday. He has nothing left to prove.
you can insert the word "old" before legends. Seriously he gets more credit for fighting dawson or tarver than RJJ. if they beat them both nobody will have an excuse unlike RJJ
