I know. That FOUR SECOND delay due to the glove repair would REALLY have made the difference..Nice try.NOT.:bart.Good wind up thread, though.
You do know that Calzaghe holds a win over Hopkins (as debatable as that is)? You could've shortened that lineage right down to Calzaghe > Hopkins > RJJ > Ruiz > Holyfield > Holmes > Ali
this is why so many people hate Joe calslappy . . . not for what he did in the ring but his ******ed fans. they make Kbro fans sound normal . . . and who are the 34 idiots that voted for Calslappy? they should be banned from anything to do with boxing!
If we're talking about early Calzaghe before he had hand injuries then he would destroy Ali. The later versions of Calzaghe it's a pick em fight. I'm basing these predictions on the assumption that Joe fight a couple of cans at HW before facing Ali. To get used to the weight you know.
Joe just didn't know how to lose, retired undefeated. I'm a big Ali fan but I can't see him winning this fight.
It's hard to say resume wise, I'd say top 70 atg, he was p4p 1 when prior to his retirement, but skill wise, he is probably at the very top, I don't think anyone has ever had all his assets combined, Heart, chin, footwork, ( one punch power till his hands failed him) adaptability, unrivalled stamina, reflexes and blurring handspeed, just a complete package.
That's what I am saying.... Back when Calzaghe had one punch power, he destroyed fighters with one punch.... Champions and contenders as well. He would probably have to settle for a TKO though, only because Ali was so much bigger...
