Joe fought Kessler just under 6 months earlier and most people thought he had improved as a boxer with age.
Joe once had a fair bit of power, that anyone that has actually watched an early Calzaghe would acknowledge. The reason for his longevity has been his adaptability, and his style has changed accordingly, to combat age and hand injuries That is the genius of Joe Calzaghe
Not on the forums I was on (Doghouse and Boxrec). People were pointing out that Joe didn't seem as quick as he was against Lacy just two years prior and that he was now relying solely on skills to win his fights. I felt Joe against Kessler got hit more than he had against previous fighters, whether that's because Kessler was that much better than previous fighters is up in the air. You also forget prior to the Calzaghe fight, everyone was stating how timeless Bernard Hopkins was for having dealt with Tarver and Winky so easily.
Yeah but b-hop is not that easy to hit in the first place so a more powerful shot may not land where as the light flurry makes an impression on the judges. Against others I am sure we will see calzaghe hit a little harder than against b-hop the elusive master of spoiling.
