Hopkins looked like he always does, a guy who wanted to avoid being hit and hitting his opponent, what a dumbass he must be? Joe hit Hopkins more than any other fighter according to Compubox. Compubox is completely flawed and wrong now? This is the first and only fight in Hopkins career where he had less in the tank than his opponent after six rounds, age may have played a factor in this but it's not like Calzaghe is a 25 yr old now, is he?
I'm not sure you ever say the early Calzaghe, Pretty. He certainly did have power. Not George Foreman or Ernie Shavers power, but definitely more than BHop power. Ask China hand Joe (one of Calzaghe's more loyal and, dare I say, extreme fans) where he got his user name, and the history of Joe's hands, powere, breakages etc.
Calzaghe hasn't had power for as long as i've been watching him. He has speed and accuracy, but not much 1-punch power
Is this a laugh? You're telling me Hopkins mashed him up, but that's ok, because you like him.. even though all evidence shows Hopkins really didn't do **** to him? You're messed, kid.
Im speaking as I saw it at the time. Hopkins landed many meaningfull telling punches and knocked the guy down. Actually watch the fight, your just ranting on.
If by ranting on, you mean I'm pointing you out to be an idiot, you're quite right. I've seen the fight about five times, with many highlight packages. Hopkins landed three meaningful punches and perhaps fifty others. Calzaghe landed 10-15 meaningful punches and hundreds of others. You're done, you just don't know it - which means, I'm done with you. Goodnight, sweetheart. Time for bed.
In your eyes "Hopkins landed just 3 meaningful punches the whole fight and Calzaghe landed 15", I think that says it all. Theres absolutely no doubt whatsever that Joe threw, by far and away, more punches, just as Bernard landed the more meaningfull ones.
I'd rather deal with the sore losers. I can't imagine the **** we'd have to listen to, if Bernard had won.
Well **** me gently, I never knew Ottke was renowned as one of the fastest ever fighters above 160lbs with handspeed, footwork and adaptability that rivals all others. Didn't know Ottke also properly cleaned his own division, nor put on clinics against young up and comers like Kessler and Lacy. Next you'll tell us that Kessler would have won that fight if it wasn't for Joe punching the air?
Funny huh? 85-90% of the people polled believe Joe won and should have won the decision in that fight. Compubox points out that Calzaghe landed double the punches that Bernard did. But oh no, Joe scraped through that fight, despite dominating large stretches of it and sweeping every round after Round 6.
Definitely and I know where you're coming from, Joe does tend to get hit and could he last being hit as cleanly by bigger punchers... I just don't think he would have gotten hit by those big punchers, I don't think Tarver would find him all night, for instance.
