Like alot of people who bitterly fought for fame, money, success, ect, Calzaghe is going through the faze of needing to remind everyone how important he is and how much power he has now that he's made it. He's trying it on. Crudely.

Joe struggled against Reid did he not? Joe struggled to a very debatable decision vs Hopkins at 44 did he not? Was Tocker Pudwill world class? Was Miguel Jiminez wolrd class? Matter of fact Jiminez was a part time boxer whom Joe looked awful against. Pudwill was the replacement for an aged Thomas Tate who rather than fight Joe retired instead. But hey it was another easy day at the office for Joe right?

First off, you shouldn't put Dawson and Froch in the same sentence. Second, Froch would be a "stay busy" fight for Calzaghe, while it would be a record payday for Froch. Out of all the "stay busy" fights he could take a give a guy a good payday, why would he choose a guy that's been talking sh*t about him in the press? If Froch was smart, which he isn't, he would be respectful to Joe and try hype the fight as a celebration of British fighters instead of trying to bait him with insults.

As for Dawson, it's the most sensible fight for Calzaghe but lacking the financial pop to make it really worth his effort at this point. He'd be better off waiting for either Dawson or Diaconu to unify, and then take the fight.

Says who.....and not to cause upset who cares what is said over the pond.....domestically this is a MASSIVE fight and Froch holding the WBC belt holds credibility to the fight.

You don't not make fights cause what is said elsewhere. Calzaghe became big by fighting in the UK and making a name for himself here first. So if the fight would be big here in the UK that is all the credibility needed.

Dude i'm a JC fan to let you know, but Froch hasn't said nothing to JC for a while, did you hear JC on 5Live???

And its not about "i don't wanna give him a payday" its about "Is this fight good to boxing and my legacy?"........answer Yes......domestic fights are always talked about years after the fight has passed. Was the Manfredo fight good for boxing for JC's legacy?

If this is just a 'stay busy' fight, then he should take it at the millenium stadium, you can virtually gurantee a full house there and loadsa money and walk off into the sunset......my question is why isn't he??? I will really question JC for not taking this fight if he chooses to continue fighting; I'll tell you one thing for sure, this is definately NOT a stay busy fight, it will be tough.

If he retires then i will not say anything.

So let me get this straight. You think Froch's first title defense should be against Joe Calzaghe, and that Calzaghe should go back down to 168 to fight for a belt he already vacated against a guy that struggled against a B- fighter in Pascal to get the belt, and has zero defenses of said belt? And that this is good match-up based on the fact that Froch is British?:-( Okay, whatever.

Dude stop being such a fan boy and getting all defensive......if JC wants another fight then yes he should fight Froch.

    Forget the belt, forget the weight;
    A. Is this a good match-up.......yes
    B. would people want to see this.....yes
    C. Therefore everybody is a winner.

This is boxing whereby the boxers should fight, your sound like you want to protect Joe. If he is a B- fighter then don't worry, you should hope this fight happens. I think JC would win on points, its boxing though you never know.

Fanboy? Are you nuts? I just want to see a competitive fight. This match-up is a joke. Its a mismatch. You're giving Froch way too much credit. This fight would be a drubbing. Calzaghe's mulling retirement. He doesn't need a stay busy fight. People gave him crap about fight RJJ, but the backlash from taking a Froch fight would dwarf that everywhere in the world except your neighborhood apparently.

He needs to take a competitive fight against either Chad Dawson or Diaconu, or the winner of a fight between both of them, at 175, his weight class. Or rematch Hopkins, fight Glen Johnson or just retire.

Froch was in the paper just last week saying if him and Calzaghe fought, he would knock Joe spark out.

LOL backlash from taking on a WBC title holder.....please......what excuse is next. Even after the backlash from the Manfredo fight he went back there again in RJJ (even he said RJJ was shot a while before the fight lol) and you would rather he fights another old guy in 39 year old Johnson.

Fact is and i'll say it again, Froch is a very credible fight end of, i agree that Dawson would also be a credible fight.
